Nancy Pelosi: The Millstone Hung Round Obama's Neck
North Star Writers Group ^ | September 15, 2008 | David Karki

I suppose that after the selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as John McCain’s vice-presidential running mate, I should neither doubt the McCain campaign brain trust nor presume to know better than they how to win an election. Nevertheless, there is an avenue that would appear to be very fruitful which they, up until this point at least, seem to be neglecting – save for one mention in Palin's convention speech.

And that is to take Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the least-popular in history Democratic-run Congress, and hang them around Barack Obama's neck.

There are several big advantages to this, not the least of which is that it fits perfectly into the McCain/Palin narrative of real change. Real change from what? From the last two years of Democratic mismanagement, which far too few people even know has existed. A lot of folks still think Republicans run the show, and given how that majority came to an end, it's hard to blame them. In some ways the two have been indistinguishable. But in the ways that matter in this election, they are different and that needs to be made known.

I’m happy to see people starting to write about this!

McCain-Palin need to pound on “the right kind of change” which has to start with getting rid of this do-nothing 9% approval rating Congress and it’s most ineffectual speaker ever!

What could the Democrat excuse possibly be? They wanted power, they got it in 2006 - and they’s piddled it away doing NOTHING to help the average folks with real problems.

The last thing we need is “MORE OF THE SAME”

I think Nancy is jealous of the fact that Sarah will be Vice President, thereby dwarfing the Speaker’s claim that she is the most Powerful woman in America.

McCain at 53% at Intrade

http://www.fivethirtyeight.com left wing site has McCain soaring.

The McCain people should hang the record of “Nine-Percent Nancy” right around Mr. Obama’s neck, and keep pounding it.

This is a superb tactic.

The tactic is absolutely correct. Queen Nancy has promised solutions for ethics in politics—to clean house—and to solve the energy crisis and a host of other promises of which the Democrat-controlled Congress has done absolutely nothing. The Congressional approval rating is the lowest in history, and it's on her watch. True...Queen Nancy has the IQ of brick, but that's no excuse for not holding her responsible for two years of nothingness. Her no-drill policy has come back to haunt her and Harry and the GOP needs to hold—nay, roast—their feet in the fire. It's time for the GOP to take off the Be-Nice gloves and come out swinging.

I think albatross would be the preferred metaphor here.

It’s easy to think of Stretch Pelosi as a big stinking bird carcass.

"Presented that way, the choice ought to be a no-brainer. "

It should be but the demorats have gotten away with it for two full years now and there is no public outcry as of yet. Too little to late on that front.

Really, even among the few Dems I know, I don’t know too many who have much respect for Pelosi. The woman is simply vile.

According to Michelle Obama, Barack can be “shot just going to the gas station.”

Joe Biden has had 2 (count em) TWO heart problems. Two is often very likely to lead to three - aneurysms are not good.

President Pelosi, anyone???

According to Michelle Obama, Barack can be “shot just going to the gas station.” I am just reciting her words, this is not an incitement or an endorsement.

Joe Biden has had 2 (count em) TWO heart problems. Two is often very likely to lead to three - aneurysms are not good.

Given all of this, forget whether John McCain (who just hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim and by the way is there anyone in AZ that has NOT had a skin cancer) should we not be asking;

President Nancy Pelosi, anyone???
