I am thinking that, at this point, he would have to match McCain’s female running mate and raise him an Hispanic for it to do any real good. And even that might not work, considering the female Hispanic elected officials he would have to choose from, such as, say one of the hermanas locas Sanchez.

The way the Democrats play special interest groups, the ideal VP candidate is a female, hispanic-irish, lesbian, handicapped, with an adopted child, who spend 20 years on welfare. She would then be introduced as being "just like America."

Nobody is so stupid as to jump on board this sinking ship. Biden will stay, and blow pretty bubbles as the ship goes down.

Never gonna happen.

Obama does not like women. He cannot have one as a running mate.

Why do you think he is so upset about Palin?

Please do not go anywhere Joe. Stay the candidate. We cannot have Hillary come in and mess up progress. Obama/Hillary is a winner for Democrats...we cannot afford this at this time.

I seriously doubt this would happen. However, it wouldn’t suprise me if the McCain campaign already had Rudy’s “get that VP thing in writing” comments already in an ad ready to go.

Remember that Missouri elected a dead guy a while back. I was so embarrassed for my state on that day.

Could you imagine being the other candidate. lol. What a schmuck he must have been. Democrats are crazy.

I have the same question, and I haven’t seen anyone answer it yet, so I think I’ll do some poking around this morning when I get a chance.

I can’t imagine that replacing a perfectly healthy candidate conveys anything but indecision and second-guessing, which is not a great thing to demonstrate live during a campaign. If Biden is going to be booted off the ticket, he’s going to have to experience a serious incapacitating illness, or he’s going to have to shuffle off this mortal coil altogether.

But no matter how it might go down, it would be ugly for the Dems. With the way the McCain campaign has been handling itself and with the media blood frenzy at any bit of controversy, I have to think that any replacement of the Dem VP candidate for any reason at this point would result in utter chaos in the Dem party and in the media.

I still think that Bayh was going to be Obama’s running mate, but I contend that Bayh had a case of “cold” feet. The reason, he knew that is going to lose and Bayh has political future to think of. That is why Obama choose Biden.. Plain and simple. Cause no one else wanted to run with him..

Correct, for two reasons. If Hussein Obama dumps him, he looks desperate and panicked. He’ll lose even more support. Second, why would Hillary want to get on a sinking ship? She wants to be the nominee in 2012, and associating with Hussein in 2008 does nothing to enhance her chances. If he loses, she can scream “I told you so” and is automatically the front runner.

I have hope for McCain/Palin that I didn’t have 4 weeks ago. We might just beat Hussein Obama, but he has the unqualified support of the left wing media, so we can get overconfident. Lets keep hammering the Muslim Marxist until the last possible moment.

Since when has the law or convention rules ever been a factor in their decision making?!

Besides, I am sure they would come up with some lame reason why Biden has to step down—sort of like his deferments....

Weren’t the major party conventions within the 70-day limit by the time they concluded? How is that ‘squared’ with Texas election law?

okay, but if Biden did concede some sort of medical reason for his withdrawing, wouldn’t that necessitate his losing his senate seat as well? After nearly 3 decades, he is not gonna walk away from that position.

Actually, I think our fellow Freeper ‘Astronaut’ gave the best reasons up at post #30.

To replace Joe Biden for any other reason than ‘health’ (and even that ‘reason’ would be widely questioned) would demonstrate that Obama is indecisive, sways with the wind, and cannot be counted on.

IOW, a beige George McGovern.

As unhappy as some Dems are, as unhappy as Lady Voldemort might be, as unhappy as Barry might be, and as unhappy as Joe himself might be...I don’t know how they make the switch at this point without it looking like the messy, desperate move it would be. Barry’s treed. He already picked Joe, saying he was the best choice and all that. The guy has to know from his Senate run what kind of trouble late changes in the ticket can wreak on a campaign. It’s a big part of why he’s a senator now in the first place. Joe would almost have to die or go Tim Johnson at this point to justify it, and even then...No, they’re screwed.
