"...one of the main reasons that so many Americans voted Republican over the last 30 years: they honestly prefer the Republican vision of a moral order to the lack of one offered by Democrats."

Fixed.

I believe in diversity of thought and opinion.

Liberals believe that diversity IS their thoughts and their opinions and anything different should NOT be tolerated.

Maybe I can sum it up, for the Democrats, who have been taught revisionist history.

America (and Republicans) have pervasive and subsuming principles:

o right to life (of the innocent)
o right to liberty, as above
o right to personal property, as above o national sovereignty
o support of virtue as necessary to the social order

What is inconsistent with these principles fails the test, "Is this in keeping with American principles?" and must not be a part of American government.

Wow, let me try to format that again...

What makes people vote Republican?

First point is California is controlled by Democrats from top to bottom, and yes, in reality, Arnie the Girly-Man is a Democrat despite what he might claim.

Democrats alway claim to only want to tax the "rich" yet California's top income tax rate comes into effect at only $45,000 a year.

Does anyone in America, let alone in California, feel rich making $45,000 a year?

That's the lesson, if you have a job, YOU are the "rich" Democrats are coming after!

.....against liberalism, diversity, and progress.

This is perhaps the 'tell.' People of this author's ilk innately associate liberalism and diversity with progress where conservatives associate progress with actual work and honesty.

These people think conservatism is a 'disorder'; I think liberalism is a diseased soul.

Often as not, it’s the Democrat nominee.

Socialism makes you feel better about oppressing people.....

Totalitarian Socialism: - Of, relating to, being, or imposing a form of government in which the political authority exercises absolute and centralized control over all aspects of life, the individual is subordinated to the state, and opposing political, cultural and religious organization is suppressed.

“A totalitarian regime crushes all autonomous institutions in its drive to seize the human soul” (Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.).

"I would like to know why many blacks vote for a party which stands for homosexuals.."

Well, they SAY they are for homosexuals, but the truth may be opposite!

I once asked a homosexual why he didn't support the conservative candidates, and policies, thinking that if the Dhummies got control, there would actually be LESS freedom, not more.

Furthermore, consider the differences between our (generally) free society, and the more repressive ones, such as; NAZI Germany, Iran, China, Korea, Cuba, Stalinist USSR, etc.

Which type of government leads to the freedom to practice homosexuality, and which type represses it?

There's another group that ought to literaly get down on their hands and knees and give us thanks!

It's more than just that. They remind me of a guy I once knew who was quite a 'rounder'. When asked the secret of his success with the ladies he responded. "I promise them anything and do what I want."

That is precisely what the Democrats and Rinos have been doing to their voters for decades.

Anyone who thinks soon recognizes this.

Why vote Republican? Simple, Mencken’s Law, which states, “Whenever A takes money from B under the pretense of helping C, A is a scoundrel; where, A = Democrat, B = Anyone with a job, C. “Victims”. And we know that Democrats must have victims, the more the better. How else will they pose as “rescuers?” Democrats are also enablers of failure. No one is responsible for bad choices and the resultant problems they face. No one! It’s a rapacious capitalistic system. Americans will help people who truly need help. We are a generous people, perhaps the most generous in the history of America, but you wouldn’t know it listening to Obama and his horde of sycophantic, servile supplicants in the media.

“What makes people vote Republican?

Why in particular do working class and rural Americans usually vote for pro-business Republicans when their economic interests would seem better served by Democratic policies?

...in contrast, {Democrats} appeal to reason with their long-winded explorations of policy options for a complex world.”

This has to be satire? While there is no doubt that Obama is long-winded, the idea that Democrat ideals are complex is a joke. On the contrary, Democrat policies are simple-minded and constant—and appeal to a media that relies on 2-minute soundbites to deliver their message; Republicans are evil, racist, sexist, bigots; the rich don’t pay their fair share so tax the rich.

Maybe working-class Americans support “pro-business” Republicans because they want to continue working. Heck, I’m currently on disability so you’d think I’d be a Democrat since they claim to want to protect these entitlements. Sadly, Democrat policies of tax and spend do nothing to protect the working class and certainly don’t generate the additional revenue needed to even support entitlement programs.

According to stats I heard just last night, Bush’s tax cuts “for the rich” generated 20% more revenue for the government than even Clinton’s largest tax hike in history. And while Democrats point to the debt and deficit also increasing, this a product of spending increases (war, farm bill, education bill, etc).

Ironically, the debt as a percentage of growth and the GDP (as measurments are usually made) is still relatively low in comparison to other administrations. This idea that you can help the poor and working-class by punishing the rich via taxes is ludicrous. It not only fosters class-warfare, it does just the opposite it sets out to accomplish—helping the poor.

On the contrary, when Democrats punish the rich and thus productivity, the rich have several available options to alleviate their pain—all which hurts the poor. Whether they downsize, cut productivity or pass their loss onto the consumer, it is the little person who gets hurt. And these same Democrats who claim to want to protect American jobs from going overseas, fail to realize that their very policies have helped make that decision alot easier for business.

This country already has some of the highest corporate tax rates in the industrialized world; when you combine this with the Democrats continued support for extreme environmental policies, union demands and a tort system that can bankrupt a corporation at any time, is it any wonder why many of our businesses have left this country. If Democrats really want to help protect the “working class,” they should stop waging war against those people who employ them—including the small business owner.

If Democrats want to understand ANYTHING they first must reflect on the italic quote above and admit they are not living in reality. Then perhaps we can heal them.
