Indian inspired costume jewelry was a big hit at Alexander McQueens Fall 2008 fashion show. Silver and gold-tiered necklaces with glass, pearls, and crystal embellishments were worn as a headpiece on the runway.

I like Indian Kundan jewelry-I have a whole boxful in different colors. But only necklaces and (rarely) earrings: No way am I wearing the stuff on my head!
