Students in Stripes?
by: Deborah Lambert, August 25, 2008
At least one Texas high school has finally decided to get tough with students. Starting this fall, anyone who violates the dress code at Gonzales High School will spend the rest of the day in a prison-like jump suit.
Opinions differ on the merits of this plan.
Some parents said the jumpsuits will make students feel like prisoners, but the district said its just a way to keep the children dressed appropriately for school, according to NewsChannel6.com.
Student Jordan Meredith suggests that his schoolmates may end up having the last laugh....

Well, the question is how do you enforce a school dress code?
I wonder if some of today’s parents will complain about the dress code.
Back in my day, we all had school clothes to wear, and everyone’s parents made sure their kids were dressed properly for school. That would work today, if the parents made sure their kids were dressed according to the code. Then they would avoid the embarassment of the prison type outfit.
I, sometimes, have the option to wear a prison like jump suit as part of my uniform.
I do it every chance I get, they're incredibly comfortable. 'Specially if you're a doughy middle aged guy who doesn't like the way pants bind him at the waist.
Yip
Dress codes stink. School uniforms are the way to go. Simple and cheap.
I wore school uniforms all my entire school life.
Not much wrong with that.
Anyway, it promotes modesty.
