It turns out that Joseph Biden is the poorest member of the Senate, is 65 years old and likely has a huge negative net-worth. His net-worth is listed as From $-302,980 to $277,997 by OpenSecrets.org. He keeps dozens of lines of credit, a new one opened every couple of years and together they add up to huge sums for a guy who has had a better paying job than most for basically his entire adult life.

You mean his ‘compound’ isn’t worth more than that?
All 'democratics' are pathetic and laughable. So Obama is about change and tuning the economy around and helping the down trodden. Then we learned this week that his half-brother George in Kenya had been discovered that had met and embraced Obama not long ago. Too bad George lives on less than a DOLLAR A MONTH and has NO TOILET! Evidently Obama is too busy worrying about Darfur and can't spare a dime for poor George, but obsesses about the number of houses McCain has.
Enter blabbermouth Biden for VP. He opens his mouth when introducing Obama as Barak America. Then Biden starts out inappropriately introducing his wife to the crowd saying (paraphrasing), 'Meet my drop dead gorgeous wife.' He went on to say something condescending about her having a doctorate as well. And now we learn that he can't handle his own finances, but wants to be in charge of ours.
If it weren't so scary, it would be comic.
From the sound of it, Biden’s probably refinanced his compound to the hilt and has zero equity. It wouldn’t surprise me.
You mean his compound isnt worth more than that?
It is. However, since he apparently is mortgaged up to his eyeballs, the equity in it no longer belongs to him. The equity in it belongs to his creditors.
"He keeps dozens of lines of credit, a new one opened every couple of years and together they add up to huge sums."
So that would make him a poor money manager and therefore NOT someone who can be trusted with the voters’ financial/economic worries.
Can we get that out for the voters to think about?
:~ )
Give the guy a break. I’m no fan of his, and believe him being Obama’s VP is a gift that will keep on giving throughout the campaign.
But . . . this board would be all over the guy if he had accumulated wealth at the taxpayers’ expense like most of the other politicians have.
Beat him up for his REAL faults.
Why do I suspect that Biden’s wife or a corporation in her name owns the compound where they reside.
The dems know all the tricks on how to avoid the truth and taxes.
Beat him up for his REAL faults.
How do you know that he hasn't accumulated wealth at taxpayers expense while in office? The whole point is that he is a poor money manager. The mouth likes to spend.
So he conducts his private affairs the same way he conducts his public life - spending a lot of money that he doesn’t have.
How do you know he HAS? People in those positions usually have a money manager, who is the guy that has to say "No".
It seems to me that Biden has plenty of other major flaws, and to seize on this one borders on trivia.
