The phones have been ringing of the hooks this morning in the UT1992 family (across the US and around the world). It is official that my nephew (oldest brother's son) is being shipped out to Afganistan. My nephew called us this morning to break the news.
Although we are all a solid military family, with family members having served in the military and/or seen action in every war/conflict since the civil war, it is still difficult news to hear.
He told me told he was scared, but knows that it is his duty and that he is proud to serve.
The ladies of the UT1992 family are now frantically trying to plan a big family get together in the next few weeks in his honor; leading the charge is Grandma UT1992. So it looks like my better-half and I will be heading to Las Vegas or Texas in the next two weeks.
Thank your nephew for his service to this great country. My prayers are with him. God bless your family!
Godspeed and God bless your nephew and the whole family.
Serve US Proud!
God Bless him and keep him safe. God Bless your whole family and give you peace. Thank him for his service!
Courage is being scared of doing something, and doing it anyway. May god bless your courageous nephew.
May God bless and protect him. My son will will be commissioned next year after he finishes his last year of college and Army ROTC. Please thank him for his service from all of us.
Tell your nephew that we are grateful for his service and that the prayers of the Chief and I are with him.

God bless him and your family.
I’d like to thank him personally for doing this for all freedom loving people.
Please tell him for me, and my best to you.
