Fedoras have a dark reputation they were worn by gangsters and spies in Hollywood movies of the 1940s. But this season with Donna Karans straw hats and Diane von Furstenbergs Hessian hats, you can be more than a mysterious woman your look will acquire a feminine and emancipated touch.

Women look great in hats. I hope hats come back for men and women. Classy hats. Not street thug hats.

Hats are really great. However Fedoras IMO belong on a man’s head. Women should wear... well womenly hats.
I like the way they dressed in the 1930’s-1960’s. Classy Suits, coats and hats for men. Dresses and feminine clothes for women.

I agree. They’ve been completely overdone on women. Let’s move on.

I when I dress up for a business meeting or other professional engagement, I typically wear a nice modern fedora with my suit. I have two, a black hat for fall and winter, and a white straw hat for spring and summer.

Fedoras are great. I have worn the same Fedora as my fall & winter hat since I got back from Viet Nam in 1971. It’s made of wool, goes through the washing machine once every year or two and still looks like I just bought it. If you buy one get a good one that will last.

Except for the country, where the cowboy hat and the ball cap are firmly established and not going anywhere, about the only hats I see on males are those stupid knitted stocking caps. And on hot days, no less. I think the hotter the weather is, the more of those winter stocking caps I see on guys. Maybe all that meth cools their heads.
I would love to see the rebirth of the Fedora Hats. Especially now that much of my hair has jumped ship.

I hope your not the guy that sat in front of me in a theater a few years back. He had a beautiful wool fedora that you could tell he was proud of. He placed it under his seat right in the path of a tall chocolaty mocha I was about to kick over. Man did I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

SINISTER? I beg to differ! Indiana Jones wears a fedora and he is not SINISTER. Very cute, but not sinister.

What was that about hats?
To: Mister Ghost
Fedora is ok, I guess - but if it’s a choice, I prefer Ubuntu.
