Pete Wehner has a great piece about Obama, Democrats, and the Surge. He has gone through the records of nearly every prominent Democrat, pulled their public comments on the issue, and makes them eat 'em.
First Chef Wehner serves Obama a big plate of bitch-slap. Sayeth the Messiah:
I don't think the president's strategy is going to work. We went through two weeks of hearings on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; experts from across the spectrum--military and civilian, conservative and liberal--expressed great skepticism about it. My suggestion to the president has been that the only way we're going to change the dynamic in Iraq and start seeing political commendation is actually if we create a system of phased redeployment. And, frankly, the president, I think, has not been willing to consider that option, not because it's not militarily sound but because he continues to cling to the belief that somehow military solutions are going to lead to victory in Iraq.
Ah, that vaunted, much heralded "Good Judgment" in which we are to place great trust in the absence of any national security or military experience. That's not happening.
The other 10 Dems also have to eat around the greasy, black feathers.

I would say that Senator Plagerist Biden is spot on! The Surge was a tragic mistake...for the Islamofascists and the DemocRATS...but I repeat myself!
Excellent. Just excellent.
thanks.
i think the dems want to avoid iraq because it would confirm president bush’s success.
also, there’s oil in iraq.
if iraqi oil fell out of our control, that would be fine with the dems, because oil is not in our country’s future, they think.
there’s no oil in afghanistan.
then they’ll want out of afghanistan.
this is a good post.
it needs to be read and bumped.
bump
I remember Kissinger saying there can be “no military solution” to the Iraq situation.
Kissinger’s credibility should be at zero now.
