I live in Hawaii and my daughter was born in Hawaii. We have a copy of her birth certificate from 2007 (just a few months before Obamas ccopy was made). It say FILED just like Obamas. I would say they look identical except for the fact when my daughters is scanned the embossing does show up from the back side. I would think a possible way to prove Obama was born here is to go to the archives of the library or Honolulu Advertiser or Star Bulletin and look in the vital statistic section of the newspapers for that time frame to see if they published a birth announcement. If one can not be found it does not prove he wasnt born here (not sure of the reliability) but if there is an announcement then that would prove he was.

The August 1961 Star Bulletin DOES have Obamas birth announcement.

I will try and post a picture in my next post. Is this the correct thread to post all this in? You can Google Earth for the 6085 Kalanianaole hwy address and see where the house is. The City and County of Honolulu has info about the parcel, building permits, etc. The original home was built in 1948, with a guest cottage (rental maybe?) added later. http://gis.hicentral.com/website/parcelzoning/viewer.htm

This is from the Star Bulletin from Aug (14, 15, or 16) 1961. The date was cut off when I copied it and dont remember the exact date since I searched quite a few days to find it.

Thanks for the tip Ali:
DENVER — An e-mail sent from the political director of the Colorado Democratic Party threatened the status of a national delegate, alleging she made “disparaging public remarks” about Sen. Barack Obama...
Toot Toot!
Also, don’t miss 5095. This is more on the latest with his house.
Here's some analysis of today's cease-fire agreement in the Russian-Georgian War:
* That Russia has the right to use its military force to bomb and invade the undisputed sovereign territory of a neighbor for the purpose of defending the dignity and lives of Russian citizens, which was the basis that Medvedev has repeatedly advanced for the operationIf Obama ... is a citizen of Kenya, a citizen of Indonesia, a citizen of the world -- where-ever and in what-ever office he may have ... what limitations on sovereignty would he know?* That Russian Federation law extends to cover all Russian citizens, wherever they might be located.

I mapped the address from the birth announcement after first seeing it and it is 7 miles from the University. Obama’s grandparents lived in a “modest wooden house on University Avenue near Kamanele Park” (Hawaii Advertiser link provided previously) prior to the apartment on Beretania St. I still believe that grandma registered the birth and used her position in the escrow dept to give the address for a ‘safe’ house.

bvw, do you post on that thread where the person gave the info about the birth announcement. If so since she says she lives there can you post to her to see if she can go to the County Assessors office and find out who owned 6085 Kalanianaole hwy in 1961?
Some of the self-promoting out there gets in the way- but still..here’s Andy Martin’s latest..

This quote of his jumped out at me- and of course he does nothing to explain what he means:
“If the document is authentic, and there are reasons to believe that it may not be, the Jakarta school report could torpedo Senator Barack Obama’s quest for the presidency by raising questions about his constitutional eligibility to serve as president.”
Okay, done. Still you can always post there yourself and ask.
I agree on the face of it. Particularly because it’s backed up by expatguy’s blog :)
Wasabi. Super hot wasabi. That’s my mood today. Anyway gotta run away for a few days, maybe weeks+, and get some real work done. This is important — but it also has kept me from my contracted work. Everyone take care, be nice to everyone, and slog for’ard always.
Safe travels, productive days :)
We’ll ping you for major news!
If someone is inclined to do that, before they start, they might also print up the area and get addresses for adjoining properties. Then when they get to the title office, look for 1961 ownership of adjoining properties.
That way we can find people to call and ask what they know about events at the reported location in August of 1961. I believe we are inclined to suspect that Ms. Dunham's parents lived at that location when Obama was born. That too is speculation.
I do not know what the title practice in Honolulu is. Many properties, if not most, are owned by a trust for one of the pioneer Hawaii families. It might be easier to go to the trust that owns this particular area. If there are title insurance companies, another place to go would be there.
Thanks! I can't get away from FreeRepublic long enough to spend time on other boards. :-)
Article II of the U.S. Constitution disqualifies McCain from assuming office because he was born in the Commonwealth of Panama in 1936, while his father was stationed at Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone, the lawsuit contends.
Nothing is going to happen until these losers learn to read and do their homework:
1. Panama is not the Commonwealth of Panama. It is the Republic of Panama.
2. There was never such a thing as Coco Solo Naval Air Station. It was Coco Solo Naval Station.
It appears they are getting their facts out of Wikipedia.
What a bunch of lazy, fried brains.
By the way, Panamanians are thrilled that McCain, a Panamanian by birth having been born in Colón, Republic of Panama, may be the first Panamanian president of the United States. Every time the subject is brought forth, they cant stop laughing.
