Amazing how Obama goes to Hawaii and the press starts talking about the controversy to debunk it. We get a 2nd birth announcement. But we don’t get a scan of the back of the COLB document that could help put this to bed. Why? Because the back of the document does not exist.
"If they contacted the Obama campaign only "a few months ago" and the campaign responded, why does the date stamp on the posted COLB show June 6, 2007? That's more than a year ago, not a few months.
jellybean, here is a scenerio of what probably happened.
People kept calling the Hawaii Health Dept. asking about Obama's birth certificate. The Hawaii Health Dept got tired of all the calls so they contacted the campaign and asked if they couldn't do something to put it to rest. So the campaign headquarters posted a BC online. If the BC is a legitimate one that date of June 6, 2007 would be when Obama sent for a Certified Copy of his BC. The reason for that date if legitimate is probably when he was getting ready to run for office so he needed the certified copy then.
Mine is dated when I sent for it in order to get my Social Security. I never realized I needed a Certified Copy. Most people back in those days thought the hospital certificate was your official BC.
Since she did not, it is not. Not legit, that is. At least that is the most logical inference.
I realized I posted the wrong month. But when I filled out the field I did put 8 for the month. No the date doesn't come before the month. It shows to put it as mm/dd/yyyy
One of the commenters are TexasDarlin’ quoted Judah Benjamin saying this:
“I suspect that the Original BC is missing, lost, or was destroyed long ago. If that is the case the Senator quite possibly did not, or does not know, which hospital he was born in, or if indeed he was born in a hospital at all. Passports do not contain that information.”
Way back when we started looking at the photo of BOH Sr. with all the leis that is supposed to be his graduation photo there was a quote from “Dreams” about what they would be doing and places they would be going during his later visit in 1971. I seem to remember him saying something like driving past the “remodelled hospital where I was born.”
Does anyone remember posting a quote from his book like this?

The thing I was reading had to do with getting your DL. They tried to make it a law but had to strike that out. I don't think you have to have a SSS for employment unless it is a government job. The only things I recall having seen as a detriment for not getting a SSS is
No federal grants
No Social Security
No federal loans etc
and probably no government employment.
A BC birth certificate may be ordered by the following:
* The person who is the subject of the certificate.
* A parent of a child under 19 years of age, or if the child is incapable.
* A custodial guardian if the parent is incapable
* A person with written authorization from one of the above.
* An officer of any provincial government or the government in Canada who requires the certificate for discharge of official duties.
* Any other person who satisfies the Chief Executive Officer of the good faith of the person's cause for requiring the certificate.
Hmmm. I hope he has a SSS# then since he has a government job. And I hope none of his loans or grants he has had were government backed or matched. He may ended up with a nice bill.
You may very well be right but that is not my understanding.
I did a little googling and found the quote i was asking about being posted on Texas Darlin. It came from pg. 61 of the original “Dreams” book.
“A month. That’s how long we would have together,the five of us in my grandparents’living room most evenings,during the day on drives around the island or on short walks past the private landmarks of a family: the lot where my father’s apartment had once stood; the remodelled hospital where I had been born; my grandparents’ first house in Hawaii, before the one on University Avenue, a house I had never known.”
Some questions:
1. Why are they visiting the “lot where my father’s apartment once stood”? Why wouldn’t he say the apartment or the house where my mother and father had once lived? We have the apparent address of that house—wouldn’t they want to see that “landmark”?
2. We know the locations of his father’s ‘homes’ while he was a student in Hawaii. Have any of these places been knocked down, left as an open lot, or rebuilt?
3.Which hospital was “remodeled” by 1971? Are any of O Sr.’s living spaces near this hospital? Is the Dunham apartment near this hospital? I know mentioning this hospital does not prove he was actually born in it but that he may have been told that he was. However, if he was born in Honolulu in a hospital, does this little word,”remodeled”, provide us with a clue about where?
I also realize that since this is from “Dreams” it may just be all a piece of BO’s imaginagion.
Also notice how close they are to Punahou school. I need to map out the birth annoucement address it might be closer to Queen's Hospital.

My thought is that house - the first house - is the address referenced in the birth announcement. I think it was the grandparents' house and I think they rented - just my gut on that.

Birth Announcement #5066. Where did this come from? I can’t find it; I can’t get to TD; which newspaper did it come from; where is the masthead? What date published?
I remember the post; I think I remember seeing it in the book or in one of the Chicago Tribune stories. I didn't post it but I do remember the quote.
But so what? It is just another self serving comment.
Obama has known for years that he has a problem with his Natural Born status under Article II, Sec. 1. He has been addressing the issue at every opportunity. If I had been his lawyer with a fifteen year lead time, I would have had the fix on this. But instead of addressing it directly and fixing it, he has squirmed around trying to hide it or fraud it or get out of it. That isn't going to work.
