RFFM.org EXCLUSIVE
Tel Aviv -- A high-ranking member of the Israeli military says an attack on Iran is imminent. Experts predict Iran may be within six months of creating a nuclear weapon and the nation of Israel is bound and determined to prevent that from happening, according to the source. It has been estimated the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has produced more than enough weapons-grade plutonium to create a high yield nuclear device and, due to this fact, the attack on Iran ...

o boy, can’t we all just get along? Really though, I pray that they take out their military might also so that the freedom loving Iranians can reclaim their country, hopefully.

When I signed on, I swear I caught a fleeting glimpse of some breaking news that Al Zarqawi had been killed. The thread has disappeared and I can't find it. Probably because I don't know what keywords to use.....and mainly because I don't know how to spell "Zarqawi".
Was the thread pulled because it's a false alarm.....or what. Thanks for any link.

Zawahiri? What are you talking about? This story had nothing to do with him. As HelloooClareece said, the person you mentioned is dead. Here’s a suggestion, Google Zawahari’s name with the information you thought you saw, if that’s what you’re looking for. Hope this helps.

Israel says that they can't wait much farther , they believe ( and I believe them, they have the best INTEL in the world ) that Iran will have a nuke and the capability in 6 months.
President Bush leaves office in 7 months, we got a Presidential election in 5 months.
I still believe that it will be a joint action by Israel and the US against Iran.
Let's hope that the Mullahs can be toppled in the process, and a more civil government can be installed shortly.

Weapons-grade PLUTONIUM??? I thought that they were only enriching Uranium.... If this story is accurate, then they must already have an operational nuclear reactor....or they have been given materials from someone else.

I'm quite skeptical of this story.
- The Israelis are better at keeping military secrets than this.
- The focus on Iran has been on enrichment via UF6 centrifugation.
- There is no such thing as "weapons grade Plutonium:" all Plutonium is weapons grade.
- Yes, the Iranians are known to have some reactor reprocessing capability, but for whatever it's worth, their Plutonium program is considered to be far behind their Uranium refinement project. Certainly they might be misdirecting: but a large scale program should actually be easier to detect because of the radioactive byproducts that reprocessing produces.
- The trick with Plutonium is keeping the critical mass together long enough, and this is done with a sophisticated implosion technology using conventional charges. That kind of technology, again, involving high-explosives, should be easily detected.
Time will tell...

If this story is accurate, then they must already have an operational nuclear reactor. They do. Several, in fact. The estimate is that they have capacity to reprocess about 600 grams Pu/y, last I heard of this. That would require on the order of ~10 years for one bomb.

Will Iran have to test their bomb? Or will they announce it?
Either action will probably trigger an Israeli response. And the world reaction will be somewhat muted.
I hope they don’t act before these Iranian options are exercised based solely on speculation.
