ollowing up on previous posts in the past couple of days about Barack Obamas birth certificate, here and here, I became more curious about Baracks mother, Stanley Ann Dunham (known as Ann), and spent several hours reading about her. In particular, I was searching for information about the circumstances surrounding Baracks birth.
It seems reasonable to ask at this point: Is it possible that Barack Obama, Anns son, was born someplace besides Honolulu?
Heres a rough sketch of what Ive pieced together so far based on information available on the Internet, but I could use some help filling in the blanks. Questions are presented at the end.
Spring/Summer 1960 Ann Dunham, at the age of 17, moves with her parents from Mercer Island, Washington following her high school graduation, to Honolulu Hawaii, where her father, Stanley, has a new sales job in a furniture store.
Fall 1960 Ann starts classes at the Univ. of Hawaiis East West Centre, a well known center of leftist thought, and shortly thereafter meets Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan student, in a Russian language class.
Oct/Nov. 1960 Barack Obama Jr. is conceived.
Dec. 1960/Jan. 1961 Ann, now 18 years old, and Obama announce to their families plans to marry. Both the Dunham and Obama parents are unhappy with the news. By this time Anns mother Madelyn Dunham has become a bank president in Honolulu.
Feb. 1961 Ann reportedly marries Obama Sr., but its unclear where this took place, who was present, and whether the marriage is documented.

Out-of-wedlock births were hidden in those days..
Since the parents at least claimed to be married the mother would not have had to live in a home for unmarried pregnant teens and no one would necessarily have thought it was an out-of-wedlock birth.
Since when are marriage certificates private documents? This should be on record with the County Clerk’s office.
Maybe there wasn’t a wedding. Obama Sr was married already in Kenya and probably didn’t want to break the law and commit adultery. He had high ambitions at this point.
Commit bigamy, I mean . .
Here's a question that some FReeper must know the answer to: BHO Sr. was married at the time he "married" S. Ann Dunham.
Are bigamous marriages contracted through fraud (against the state issuing the marriage license) legally valid?
For example, did Mama Obama need a divorce? Or was she never in fact married?

This forum has a pretty detailed history of Obama (and the inconsistencies) with links.
Well, if Obama's not a "natural born citizen", that's critically important.
What does his parent's marital status have to do with anything? They could not have been legally married, since BHO had a wife in Kenya and preexisting marriage is a bar to matrimony in all 50 states.
Unless the Obama-Dunham "marriage" has something to do with Constitutional eligibility to the office of President, who cares?
As I said, so what?
I hope someone finds Hussein’s complete background before we become the United Sultanates of America. His personal history seems to be as nebulous a OBL’s whereabouts.
I can’t understand that in the year 2008 we cannot even come up with a presidential candidate’s complete identification. Someone is keeping this information hidden — he/she/they should be extensively waterboarded.
It may well have a lot to do with his citizenship if for example it can be proved that he was not born in Hawaii....
He could only be a naturalized citizen at best since the law applies differently to Illegitimate children.
Also according to The Hawaiian Health department Vital records website the state of Hawaii will issue an amended birth certificate if the person was born outside of the United States.
Frankly I don’t know what that means but it sounds like they will issue one either way.....
uh...uh...very...uh, uh.....uh.....little
One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies.
I actually had to do my homework on this one in Texas. It seems my now ex-wife was "technically" married via common law at the time of our marriage. As such I was legally entitled to apply for annulment instead of divorce, as that is one of the few legal grounds for annulment after a very short window.
In my case I finally chose to file for divorce because, as it was uncontested, I could do it myself, making it cheaper, and I didn't need to involve her extremely mentally disturbed ex for evidence of her bigamy.
Interestingly, he STILL freaks out periodically and gets in touch with me to, among other things, accuse me of being a bigamist. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Isn’t his mom’s age pertinent to his citizenship? In 1961, the US citizen marrying a foreigner had to have reached a certain age, and 5 years must have passed before the birth of child, IIRC.
But whether or not his parents were married is irrelevant, because the law in 1961 was that BOTH parents had to be US nationals (at least) to confer birthright citizenship.
If he was born outside of the US (which I think is very, very unlikely), then he's not eligible to be President. If he was born in Hawaii (or another state), he is.
In either case, since BHO Sr. was never a US national (and could not have been legally married to S. Ann Dunham under any circumstances), his parents' marital status is irrelevant.
