I like hot sauces, I don’t shy away from heat, and like most on this thread I can drink Tabasco straight. (About all it’s good for anyway.)
However, Try as I may, I cannot use Dave’s or any other multi-million scoville hot sauces. You’re better off just spraying Mace on your tongue.
Frank’s has a good flavor, but not much heat. Add some Tobasco for the heat.
My daily favorite is a brand of Louisiana Hot Sauce sold by Aldi’s. Not too much heat, good flavor, and enough vinegar kick to add that little something extra.

House of Tsangs Szechuan Sauce is also excellent if you are looking for hot/spicy Chinese sauce. I love that stuff. I put it on practically anything we stir-fry in the house - my wife thinks I'm nuts... :0)

You should try it. It is far and away the best general purpose hotsauce available. Its about as hot as Tobasco, but has more flavor to it.

Thanks for that link. Your other comment about Tabasco not advertising much reminded me of
this Tabasco commercial, the only one I ever remember.

Cholula is pretty good. I don’t think it’s quite as hot as Tabasco and the flavor is much better. About all I use Tabasco for is green beans and salad.

Its low heat and pretty safe, anyone have opinions on the Tabasco line of sauces? Personally, they all taste like kerosene to me. It must be the type of vinegar they use or something in their processing, because the peppers themselves are just fine in other brands of sauces.
For basic every day table hot sauces we use Crystal, Marie Sharp's, Texas Pete's, and several different ones from Jamaica.
At any given time there are at least 20 different hot sauces in the house, with at least half of them open!
And that doesn't include the ones I concoct myself. I'm working on 2 new ones right now.

Maries is the hottest of the three, but I like these for their flavor, rather than because they are hot. We love all of the Marie Sharp's sauces. And you are correct, it is for the flavors, not the heat.

I would like to recommend a website called www.chilefire.com, which was created by one of my friends. Theres some interesting information there. I went and looked, and sure enough I had bookmarked your friend's site not that long ago, although I haven't had much time to explore it.
