OK, now the FR stalinist brigade can pi$$ and moan at how "unjust" for the chillren this ruling is.
For the record, I'm pi$$ed at the Texas CPS for their shoddy handling of this case; and for allowing people that probably should be behind bars to go free due to their ineptitude.
I honestly don’t know what to make of this ruling. It looks like someone wanted to make themselves famous off this sensational case. There are far too many prosecutors out there who are guided by the media spotlight instead of the truth. There should be severe punishment dished out to the prank caller and anyone else who distorted the facts.
After the Supremes have UPHELD the lower court, several FREEPERS owe the rest an apology.....!
An apology? Don’t hold your breath.

I will never understand how some FReepers could condone a government raid where they rounded up all the innocent children at gunpoint. How can some FReepers condone the false imprisonment of adult women?!! How can some FReepers believe the filth and lies about this story from the main stream media, including FOX News?! It does not fit the profile of a liberty-loving FReeper.

Michael Savage if thoroughly PO’d about this.
It doesn't take much to strip away that paper thin veneer of 'civilization' from most folks. Any crowd, no matter how well behaved you may think they are, no matter how rational they may appear to be, is never more than one incident away from becoming a very frightening mob.
This case has illustrated that fact quite nicely I think. I know there are members of this forum that I'll never look at the same way again.
Take a hard look at what has happened here and you'll understand how easy it was for Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and Pol Pot to do what they did.

Very deep musings, L. I like to think that all my life I have looked within to acknowledge my baser self. I even know many of the situations that would cause me to kill. I just wish people could understand how a demagogue loves a mob.
Yea, that's me. Old Deep Musing Lurker....LOL.
This place used to be full of deep musers. Most of the people who were on here understood how important it is to defend to the death the Constitutional Rights of even the most weird, reviled, and despised members of what laughingly passes for a society these days.
Now look how little it took to strip all of that away and expose a lot of people for exactly what they are. Namely a bunch of would be tyrants perfectly willing to destroy what little is left of the longest lasting Constitutional Republic the world has ever seen.
Damned sad if you ask me, and more than just a little bit scary.

Here ya go.
Musings so old and deep, they’re positively moldy.

Very good! And Jeff Head is even back!
The Attorney General of Utah handled the FLDS much more reasonably and constitutionally by only going after men who had definitely committed crimes and only going after them after getting probable cause.
Amen.
Seeing photos of the women of that group makes my gut twist into knots. Those women are *****creepy*****.Stepford-wife creepy.Looking at those women,by itself, strongly suggests to me that there's something ***seriously*** wrong in that group.Something so wrong that government authorities are correct to take a close look...particularly regarding the welfare of the kids.
And....no....I'm not some kind of anti-Mormon type.
None of us who decried the actions of the Texas CPS disagree with that.
We would like the police to gather evidence of criminal wrongdoing, submit said evidence to the DA, have the DA indict anyone found to have abused children, and have those people tried by a court of law. Then, if found guilty, jailed.
Some people would rather the police and CPS just round up everyone peripherally involved and ship them off to a camp.
Sometimes criminals get away with their crimes. Sometimes it's because they are very clever, sometimes it's because they are lucky and sometimes it's because the authorities screw up the case against them.
And when any of those happen, it sucks. Criminals, especially those that abuse children, deserve punishment.
But you can't be a supporter of the Constitution and a proponent of the rule of law and due process while simultaneously screaming that the Texas authorities must "do something!!!!111."
We are a country of laws. Sometimes the guilty go free. That sucks. But the converse is too scary to contemplate.
