Yes, I am too. What makes this stand out in particular, in my mind, is that DUmmie Lorien, a member of Skin's Island since 2002, seems to be telling this story for the first time.

This is based solely on the content of his or her OP; my DU sockpuppet has no star next to it, so I have none of the advanced search features of donating members. (The only way I'd ever have a star is if a DUmmie bought me one; I'd pay money to see the Sex and the City movie before I'd send it to Skinner.)

So, if this is the first time DUmmie Lorien has told this tall tale 'round the lagoon of Skin's Island by firelight in GD-P, why would s/he have waited 6 years (since becoming a member) to tell it?

I've been using Google; there's a lot of material here, and as soon as I can sort some of it out, I'll post it.

It is indeed a mystery that this is the first time the Lorien primitive's told this story, when the primitives have been complaining about how close Alphonse Capote Gore came to successfully stealing Florida, for almost eight years.

I still think this is just a case of another mad professor; she appears to have made up a lot of other stories about other things, too.

I like that Google widget they added. It is a FUnnie thing about DU. Any advanced functionality is offered to paying members only, and their site is lousy with advertisements. On Free Republic, there are no ads, all functionality is available to all members (with the exception of vanity e-mail), and by default, donating members are anonymous.

Yet somehow we conservatives are the greedy bastards.

Skinner's laughing at his DUmmies all the way to the bank while Jim Robinson is getting prayers by the thousands to come home from the VA hospital and get well.
