Mainstreaming Terrorism to Sell Donuts
Little Green Footballs ^ | 5-23-08 | Charles Johnson

I didn’t believe this story when people first started emailing about it; but sure enough, its true. Dunkin Donuts, the venerable old fried dough seller, is the latest American firm to casually promote the symbol of Palestinian terrorism and the intifada, the kaffiyeh: Dunkin’ Breakfast Choices.

Looks like a scarf.

That’s a scarf, not a kaffiyeh.

Your first thread on this was pulled, wasn’t it?

Already attacked on another thread a few days ago, that is not a kaffiyeh, the pattern is all wrong, it is just a black and white scarf.

While the pattern in kaffiyehs sometimes change, they never have the elements that you would see in that scarf. Someone the other day posted they bought one almost exactly like that at Macys, just in a different color.

Just take two seconds to look at the thing and you’ll see it’s paisley, not houndstooth.

I thought it was pulled because of the source. This is from a different source. I emailed FR, but they never replied to me about why the thread was pulled.

Are you sure it isn't a kaffiyeh? I realize that it doesn't have the same lattice pattern like Yasir Arafat's, but I had thought it was one. I'm going to pose the question at LGF.

A kaffiyeh has a very particular pattern. It is used by Arabs to denote affiliations or clans, much like highland Scots used Tartans.

This is a frilly, paisley filled scarf for decoration.

It isn't the scarf that I want.

It isn't the coffee that I want.

It IS the woman holding the coffee and wearing the scarf that I want... ;-)

I have never seen a kaffiyeh that has ever had paisley or flower patterns like this. Just because a scarf is black and white, doesn’t make it a kaffiyeh.
