My philosophy is that life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes.

Mine too. Tennis shoes, riding boots, some sandals, and some kind of muck shoe I can clean stalls in without ruining the first three.

I don't go anywhere I could wear the heels at the link.

LOL! Exactly.

Have you seen the Zappos commercial where the sunshine and rainbows are coming out of the box? I swear that’s what happens when I open my Zappos boxes. ;-)

I have the basic 5, too. (And then some classy, outfit/event/activity-specific heels, boots.) Nothing too much to clutter my closet.

At current, however, I'm living in all my Danskos.

I've got happy feet. :)

Although I hope to add a pair of Birkenstocks to the collection soon...

You will be so sorry. Your other shoes will scream from the neglect. I've been wearing Birks well, um, since I was 18. Those, and my running shoes and my current fave rave collectibles - Danskos.

Fashion Horror Story: Invited as guests to one of the fanciest dining establishments in N Carolina. I had planned to wear my pointytoe black/white alligator pumps. Wore my Danskos in the car. Got to the place; made the snap decision to keep my Danskos on. We all strolled the huge and amazingly beautiful grounds of this Country club after dinner, I could've kept walking; the other female guests were all hankering to go back for a stiff drink and after a mere hobble or two on the grounds. I had factored in my silk black trousers would hide my "fashion gaffe" and it worked out just that way.

Tired out feet? Put on a pair of birks; the relief is palpable. You will so not regret having birks.

I’ll definitely have to get a pair now!
My other shoes will just have to learn to cope. ;-P

Your other shoes will occupy themselves in nice clean acid-free paper awaiting a mere beckon from you. Maybe, for years....

[The others look kinda uncomfortable too!]
They sure can be but guys usually like stiletto high heels!

The Japanese shoes are like ‘toe’ dancers’ in ballet. They would shorten the muscle or what ever it is above your heel and you would have a hard time wearing flats again.

I know some one who had that happen.

I got those in email. There were about 7 pictures and they are the latest thing in Japan.

They would be horrific to wear!

Who cares about the shoes, it's what's between them!
