What a relief!!! Our son made it home safe and mostly unharmed last night. Along with his unit, he served for 15 long months in Iraq. What a great anniversary gift for his mom and I! We are grateful to God for his safe return.

What great news to start a beautiful summer ahead of you and your family - thank you.
Thank your son for his service too - and I hope he finds some time to have fun, some R&R and ice cream!!!

I am very glad for you, and praise God along with you. Thank you and your son for his service. God is using our soldiers to open missionfields. I live to see the Muslim world convert to Christ. God bless.

A BIG welcome home to your son!! I know it's a huge relief when they're back stateside.
My son should be back late this year from his 3rd tour.

You being a former LEO may already know about this, but if he was in the s**t, and fully engaged in the shooting war, introduce him to the work of Dr. Dave Grossman (
http://www.killology.com/index.htm). His work w/the military (and police) on how to cope with the psychological effects of surviving violent/deadly encounters is world renowned, and very effective. Get Dave's books “On Killing” and “On Combat” and have him read them as well. And congratulations to you, and thank you to your son.

Thank you (and all) for your reply. Yes, we are very familiar with the book. I have talked to Dave about his book and other matters. My son (a professional soldier) and his sister (a professional law enforcement officer) and my wife (a Homeland Security Officer) are sheepdogs!
Am I proud of my family? You Bet!
