Here is the 2008 Electoral Vote Projection Map and State Poll Average Chart updated for Thursday, May 15, 2008:

* No Changes to the Map. Things have remained static now for several days. We did have one Michigan poll roll off the 50-Day average, but it only upped both candidates by a point to 44%-44%, keeping Michigan in the "Tossup" category.

* Barack Obama leads John McCain 46.5% - 44.3% in the 50-Day Average of all National Polls.

* John McCain leads Barack Obama 46.7% - 45.1% in the 50-Day Average of "Likely Voter" Polls.

* It will be interesting to see if Obama's 41-point loss in West Virginia has any impact on polls in the next several days.

Thanks for using Electoral Projection. Don't forget to check out the charts at the bottom of the page for Latest State Polls, 50-Day Average of National Polls, and Latest National Polls. All your comments yesterday were great! Please share your thoughts pertaining to the campaign by commenting at the end of this post. I'll post updates through the day as I become aware of any polling-related news. Have a great day!

Expensive gasoline - weak dollar - poor personal economies - lack of disposable income.

People are beginning to realize expensive gas isn’t going away. But they’ve built their lives around cheap gas. That leads to serious lifestyle changes, and uncomfortable choices.

People won’t spend money on other things this summer, because they’ll be buying gas to get to work, and paying for expensive groceries. That will lead to even more problems in the economy.

Obama promises “hope and change”. McCain promises what?
(Realize I understand and believe McCain is without question better than Obama I’m just making an observation of the “messages”). With conservatives staying home because McCain isn’t conservative enough, and Obama promising nothing, but packaging it well, we better get used to the idea of President Obama.

I'm beginning to get the drift that we Republicans might just as well be consigned now to a Pres OBAMA (OMG) so as to get the hurt over all at once.

This is something that I think we should not do, This guy is a disaster.
