There is never really a good time for a revolution.
If it ever happens I think it will come as a complete surprise to most and will be triggered by some seemingly minor event I am sure (the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back).
I do still hold out hope that we can salvage the country without it.
I have a six year old son and I do not want him to have to live through something like that.
I have grandchildren older than your son - and I don’t want your son, my sons and daughters, or any of us to have to go through something like that. However, at this point we’re in between a rock and hard place.
America has put forth “their best” in the form of Clinton, Obama and McCain. I give McCain a couple of concessions, one that he was in the military and two that he was a POW in Vietnam. Other than that, he has not shown us that he has the balls to handle this job. On the OTHER hand, Clinton doesn’t have them and is a socialist, and Obama is a Marxist.
If we can’t see the difference in these three people and stay home and not vote, then we deserve exactly what we get. A civil war. There are differences, albeit, they are minor, but there ARE differences.
In another thread JSM is talking about greenhouse gases and dissing the Bush administration. So, he has bought into this crap.
Well, “climate change” DOES exist. But there’s little humans can do about it, and a lot less we’re going to be able to do when we go into the next ice age - and still have NOTHING to do with it.
On the other hand, we don’t need a civil war - not like we had in 1776. What we need is simply to stand up and DEMAND a reduction in the amount of taxes pulled out of our hands, refuse to let a government this large push us around and when we do, it will begin to get the message.
What are they going to do? Send in US troops? Nope, that’s against the law, and when they do it, THEN we have them. And we fight. Until then, there are still options to repair things in this country that won’t require violence.
I see you are stinking up another thread newbie. Where are your other 7 cohorts. You picked a fight with me and I plan to expose you for the troll you are anywhere you post along with your DU buddies.
Isn’t stalking other posters from thread to thread a violation of FR rules?
Funny. You are one of the other seven I have identified as trolls or sleepers. Yes, I think the admin should look at your posting history of ganging up on fellow freepers.
Only seven? lol
I’ll take that as a further admission. There are others. The eight of you have very identifiable posting histories.
You have my permission. LOLOL
I’m afraid we, as a society, are so beaten down by political correctness that we no longer have the courage or will to do what it takes to stave off the socialist takeover.
I should have known trying to respond in a non accusatory way around this place was useless.
Evidently if I don’t vote the way you do and are part of the “Amen” crowd I’m voting for Obama.
According to you if I don’t support a man I absolutely despise, I’m voting for Obama. If that’s what you wish to think then so be it.
I’ll tell you this much tho. The problem with the Republican Party isn’t the candidates. It’s the people within the party that will support the party no matter who they toss out.
No thanks, the republicrat party can KMA if the best they can do is Juan Mclame.
Yah, her commandant. Strictly verboten. To see your soul makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
Du bist Obersterich
Well good, then don't be my neighbor. I have high standards, and they are enforced by our HOA.
I understand your point of view and in a way I agree with you.
EXCEPT:
“Its time to vote for what semblance of conservatism we have LEFT and force the new President to move as far right as we can force him to go.”
But isn’t this what I did twice when I voted for Bush? I got two things for 8 years. Tax Cuts/Lower Taxes and 2 awesome Judges (and one was almost messed up). We will not get that with McCain NO matter what- He’s the “Maverick” and will completely IGNORE us the conservative base. I will not lie to myself to believe otherwise. We won’t get anything with McAmnesty. And we KNOW the Republican’s in Congress will not stand up to a Republican President. To deny that we have a problem, it is wrong. We do have a problem. But we all need to make sure we get all our Repub./Conservative friends to go out and vote for Congress/Senate (State and Fed.) etc. - at this point I don’t Care who wins the Presidency (and I will never vote for McCain - I can’t put my name on that) but I will work to get conservatives elected and to get everyone I know to go out and vote for them. That’s all we can do at this point. We will just have to agree to disagree about voting for McCain.
HOA = Elitist Socialism.
Creeping Socialism backed by supposed conservatives everywhere you look. No wonder the party is in such a mess.
Redacted version: WE’RE F**KED
The hallmark of socialism is collective ownership. There’s no collective ownership. It’s not socialism at all. Not even a little bit. There may be some elitism, but as you know, that’s fine with me. I don’t want crappy lawns and I don’t want to see my neighbor’s Camaro up on blocks in the driveway.
If I want to live in a development where none of my neighbors want crappy lawns or to put their Camaro up on blocks, what’s wrong with that? No one made anyone buy a house in my neighborhood, and they are free to move any time they’d like. We’re just a collection of folks that like to see nice lawns.
Yes and no it is what we’ve done.
Bush is still, regardless of what people are saying about him, a good President. He and the current administration has kept another 9-11 from happening here.
I believe he realized that it’s all well and good to kill terrorists on their own soil and a lot of the problems will stop, but I think he further realized that there has to be a fundamental change in the Middle East and it has to come from within, NOT from without.
Iraq is the one place that he can try to make those changes and hope they “stick”.
I don’t know WHAT McCain will do. I don’t think HE knows for sure what he will do about anything.
But - here’s the dilemma - What other choices do we have?
1) Obama
2) Clinton
3) Third Party
4) Write ins
5) Stay home and not vote.
6) McCain
So I can’t think of anything else, and yet there are people on this thread and others who are dead set against McCain, and I can’t BELIEVE they are all Conservatives with their heads up their rectums either. I have to believe there are a boat load of Dummie plants on this site shilling for anyone BUT McCain.
I never liked him much at all, in comparison to Thompson, or Hunter.
But, common sense will win out with me and I’ll vote for him in spite of the bad things you or others say because, well, look at the other five choices.
1) Obama? I don’t think so
2) Clinton? _ oh HELL no.
3) Third Party? That’s going to take votes from McCain and give them to the Dummies.
4) Write-ins? Sounds good in theory. But we all need to chose the SAME write-in and all the states have to accept write-ins, but they don’t.
5) Stay home? Gives votes to the Dummies.
6) McCain? Seems like, under the circumstances, it’s the LOGICAL, CORRECT thing to do.
