Fox Fires Intern for Revealing the Bias We All Know They Have (Barf Alert)
Snafu-ed ^ | May 11, 2008

Fox News, or as I prefer to call it, Faux News, fired an intern for revealing the bias we all have toward the GOP. As MSNBC's Don Abrams said, she apparently did not get the memo that said that on Faux News, "you are supposed to pretend you are fair and balanced."

The production assistant, identified as Jennifer Locke, was on assignment with a camera crew to cover the Time 100 Party.

Locke: "John McCain, Fox News."

McCain: "Fox News, I'm always glad to talk to Fox News."

Locke: "I voted for you in the primary."

McCain: "Thank you very much, you're not supposed to reveal that."

Locke: "You're gonna win."

McCain: "Thank you, thank you."

But why fire her? For being honest about they way they all really feel? I've often wondered if everyone at Fox News is as far right as they portray themselves, or if some fake and for their career's sake and feel bad about it off-camera.

Adds MSNBC's Don Abrams, "When you work at a place that’s clearly partisan, they should at least make sure that their younger staff get the memo about feigning objectivity."

This video is from MSNBC’s Verdict, broadcast May 9, 2008. (VIDEO OF ABRAMS AT LINK)

"I've often wondered if everyone at Fox News is as far right as they portray themselves..."

What Abrams doesn't know, is that if Locke was far right, she'd never have voted for McCain to begin with.

And you guys at PMSNBC have day in and day out Obama love fests. At least FOX news attempts to be non-bias while the Post Menstruating Spews Network claims to be objective when you clearly are not.

Just watch the election night coverage for any network and it's pretty obvious from the smiles and frowns when the result come in who supports which candidate. Seriously. It's no mystery. And, yes, the Fox News teach (except for Paula Zahn in 2000) all had frowns when they thought Bush would lose and smiles when they realized he was going to win but every other network reacting with smiles for Gore and Kerry and a look like someone just told them their pet dog had died when it looked like Bush was going to win. Why is only Fox's bias a problem?

Why is only Fox's bias a problem?

Because Fox is kicking their behinds daily in the ratings. Fox appeals to a larger audience because they are different and that just burns them up. They can't see their own bias because they look just like CNN and the network news programs. They can't understand why everyone doesn't feel the tingle when Obama speaks.

Isn’t Dan in charge of MSNBC programming? And isn’t he keeping on the air a SHOW ANCHOR who said his leg tingles when he hears Obama speak? And he has the gall to complain that another network takes their “fair and balanced” position seriously enough to fire someone if they violate the policy?

This demonstrates the level of dishonesty in these people. Rather than say "They shouldn't be biased" the weasel says that they should hide it. Why should they hide it? At least a reporter who is up front about his bias will give us the chance to take what he says in that light, whereas all of the usual liberal media idiots go to great lengths to pretend they are non-partisan, and that their news coverage is unbiased, when they are some of the most biased people on the planet.

Wow, how did you stumble across this worthless blog? Some nobody intern tells McCain she voted for him and that’s enough to indict all of Fox News? Of course, what else would you expect from a blogger who doesn’t even know that the MSNBC assclown’s name is “Dan Abrams”, not “Don Abrams”. Pathetic.

As much of a worm as I think Abrams is, (assuming that I am remembering him correctly; it has been a while since I watched any televised news), I think it is only fair to point out that that particular statement looks more like snide sarcasm than a serious analysis. The weird thing about all of this, is how the more entrenched networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN) complain about Fox's "conservative bias", when Fox really isn't that conservative. On the whole, they are liberal--with a dash of conservative viewpoint thrown in. Personally, I think that the networks find the fact that Fox is competing and winning galling and reaching for any advantage they can; and the naive liberals who watch them buy the screed, hook line and sinker.

Oh, I agree. But what the weasel can't comprehend is that the point he is trying to make with his snide remark is exactly what the MSM really does daily, including him. So, he is inadvertently condemning himself.

If it was some kid intern in college doing the interview, I would have let it slide but not have her interview live again.
She was welcome to vote anyone she wished, but she should not talk about it before a camera.

That said, she could have been a Democrat voting for McCain, you never know.
