Check here daily for updates on the latest General Election Projection for the 2008 Presidential Election. Both the map and the "Poll Averages" chart will be updated at least daily, sometimes multiple times a day as new polls become available.
The "Poll Averages" are based on a six-week average of polls for each state where available. The projection map is based on a combination of the averages for each state, the state's previous voting history where little poll data is available, and the all important "gut-feeling." Be sure and leave your comments as to how you see the election shaping up!

An effective, well-timed Red Boating of the Titanic Obama will turn those blue states to red!
Looks pretty good for McCain right now. He just needs to pull of Ohio and either New Mexico, Nevada, or Colorado and he can win.
I think McCain will pull Ohio, NM, Colorado and Nevada, plus PA.
I think there may be some other surprises. Look for states like MA, NJ, NY and CA to be closer than they should be.
A great chart and a good blog to follow. However, the idea that the Detroit Muslims won’t hand Michigan to Obama is ludicrous. Move MI from Tossup to Obama is the first logical correction I can see.
Fauxbama will not win PA or OHIO, and I doubt he’ll highly he’ll win Wisconsin.
The election is over before it begins if Fauxbama is the candidate, and anyone paying attention that isn’t completely blinded by ideology knows this.
OH and PA are guaranteed McCain if Fauxbama is the candidate, and I’d say Wisconsin as well... The election is over before it begins if Fauxbama is the candidate.
I’m projecting Obama wins DC, Illinois, Rhode Island and possibly Massachusetts.
I’d say those are a given, but With Ohio and PA being McCain, it doesn’t matter, he’s over 270 or whatever is needed before the general campaign has even begun... Fauxbama cannot win a general election.
Not only will he lose the electorial, but the margin of the popular vote will be insane.
Here’s another possible game ender for our side. California is still talking about apportioning their vote by district. Should that happen, we are way up front on the edge.
Those California numbers should worry team Obama. He can’t win without that state. With a little effort from McCain, the Dems could be forced to spend money defending a state they take for granted.
I hate to agree with Hillary, but she may be right that she would be the stronger candidate against McCain.
But I’m still enjoying her campaign ending.
