How to remove system integrity scan wizard-Help!

Posted on 05/02/2008 10:32:19 AM PDT by hsmomx3

How can I remove system integrity scan wizard from my system? Since yesterday, this keeps popping up.

I have run my Professional AVG AV software as well as Adaware and this is the one thing that I am unable to get rid of.

Is there a free online program that will remove this?

Thanks!!

Try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and/or Antivir.

Check your add/remove programs list. Sometimes things like this “hide” in there, thus making it look legitimate to the anti-virus/anti-spyware programs.

OK, go to Run and type in

msconfig

Go to the startup tab and see if it is listed in there. If it is, uncheck it.

Then go to the services tab and see if it is listed in there. If it is, uncheck it.

If it is in there, then reboot your system and check msconfig again and see if it has turned itself back on.

When you have something REALLY dug into your system and the anti-malware and anti-virus software isn’t taking care of it, the best place to go is www.majorgeek.com Follow their directions to the letter. Eventually you will run a program called “hijackthis.” That will give you the info. you need to rip out whatever it is. And if it doesn’t, you can send the log to them, and they will give you instructions (but ONLY if you did all of the things their website says to first).

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with this site. I’ve used them a couple times, though.

I downloaded the Antivir and I already have the AVG Profesional AV protection as well as Adaware on my system BUT the Antivir seems to be very effective and it even pops up when something is detected even when we are on the internet.

I love that as my AVG does not do this.

I am very satisfied with that Antivir free program and recommend it.

I was also able to fix my other problem(s).

Thanks, all, for your suggestions/advice.
