Hillarie’s Victory Speech said it all.

Listening to Hillary Clinton has an undesirable effect on anyone that approves of or is proud to be an American. Last night, in her Pennsylvania Victory speech, she read off a brief Latinity of those who had preceded her. The list included Suffragettes, Civil Rights Protesters and included Protesters of every stripe. It was finally made clear, by her, that her candidacy is a Protest all by itself. While this is attractive to a specific element of society, having a Protest President should not even be on the radar of anyone exercising any rational thought process.

Electing Hillary is tantamount to elevating those who feel “America is inferior” or lacking, to a position of authority. While the Protestors were protesting, other Americans were working in factories, farming, fighting in wars, teaching, working construction or as a COP walking the beat etc. These people are the “lesser” members of society according to the HC template.

The tone of her speech was almost conciliatory in a drab sort of way. It was clear that she was trying to remove the “finger in the eye” that she spent 8 years carefully placing in all things American. Gone was the “in your face” approach she so carefully crafted during those years she spent in the White House. In her heart of hearts, this approach to life was normal and acceptable and it gives her an inner confidence to continue.

La·tin·i·ty (l-tn-t)
n.
1. The manner in which Latin is used in speaking or writing.
2. Latin quality or character: Her speech was marked by florid Latinity.
3. A Latinism.
4. Latin literature: This concept is not found in all of Latinity.

My guess is they mean litany. But litany implies long, so the author still isn't using language with the necessary degree of precision.

Cicero’s Latinity is usually considered the best...at least for prose. (His poetry wasn’t so great.)

Interesting point about her painting herself as a protest candidate. If you look at Hillary’s past, you will see that she has always been a protester at heart but has not played up that aspect (mostly because being a socialist protester doesn’t play very well so she had to align herself with groups like the suffragettes instead). This is likely because of the reason’s you pointed out in that unless you have the perfect chemistry it’s tough to pull it off with a national audience. She seems to be pulling out all stops at this point. She has seen that being a protest candidate has worked reasonably well for Obama and is attempting to use the same tactic.

I am new to Free Republic and I can't believe the pettiness of wasting so much space on discussing the misuse of one word and disregarding the intent of writers article! Bowtie52 had a very valid point to make regarding Hillary Clinton trying to, once again, reinvent herself so that she will be now be considered the “Protest President” and you chose to focus on a single misplaced word instead of the crucial issue. Shame on you.
