The "Sixteen year old girl." A hoax???

Just read this on WND.

I am SPITTING mad. Texas authorities better have those children back in their mothers arms by tonight.

"A 33-year-old Colorado Springs woman has been questioned about a telephone call that sparked a raid at the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints compound in western Texas two weeks ago.

Rozita Swinton was arrested at her home Wednesday night by Colorado Springs police for an incident that occurred in February. Members of the Texas Rangers were also in Colorado Springs as part of their investigation.

"The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs (Wednesday) as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas. They left and have not filed any charges on Rozita Swinton as of this time," said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Skip Arms.

Colorado Springs police said the arrest warrant has been sealed and refused to release any other details, reported Deseret News."

” So is there somekind of mind control going on in there? “

Since it is highly probable that a large number of the FLDS sect are severely mentally retarded, I’m thinking it wouldn’t take much effort to foster a particular group mindset (like...submit or be cast out)

Not a whole lot of heavy hitters in the mind department to challenge the intellectual value of practicing the child bride scam.

The young girls at the FLDS are getting ‘spiritually married’, yet do know know what AMERICAN IDOL is.

Of course, that wasn’t a very good analogy.

(However, all the FLDS threads have turned into a mess, so it isn’t just me and you)

It is only a "mess" if you don't take the time to read them.

There is a great attempt to fill them with nonsense, half truths, and non sequiters.

The LDS crowd is very good at that.

If you read the threads, however, you will find equal attempts to refute every one of their false claims - to include links, scripture from both the Bible and their own books and writings from church leaders.

That is very key to this discussion. No one shouts "Mormon Go Home!" and gets away with it. All issues, from the truthfulness of the dug up Golden Plates to "Great Compromise" of 1890 are debated in great detail.

I will agree with you though. You must have patience and persistence to cut through all the Bovine Scatology that will be placed in your path (along with a lot of personal attacks and insults if you disagree with the Mormon church).

Oh - and don't ever, EVER do a Google search of "Secret Mormon Temple" and post any images here. Don't EVER do that!

Especially avoid the First Token of the Aaronic Priesthood.

“If all the accusations of this being a trampling of rights is true, what should be done now? “

I would think all that would have a chance to come out during the CUSTODY HEARINGS that are occurring at this very moment.

“The 16-year-old whose call to a family shelter triggered the raid has not been found. Voss said several girls said they knew who she was and one said they had last seen her in a garden several days before the raid. “

THANKS, Skypilot.

It deserved to be repeated.

Do we know ... or is there evidence ... that members of this sect were receiving government welfare for the children? I’ve been curious about that.

Get a grip chick. You want to believe the media or the former members testifying to the child rape that occurred? You want to doom these kids to a false life, go ahead. There are far too many of us that can see the truth.

The US Constitution protects people from being treated as property by another person. It also grants the States the authority to establish criminal code within that State (I posted above), thus, they couldn't be hiding behind the US Constitution.

I was talking about the Enablers and polygamy defenders here on Free Republic who are hiding behind their ACLU inspired interpretation of the Constitution and that are falling all over themselves trying to prosecute the State of Texas for having the gall to try to save these wretched children from this abusive cult.

“No, this black girl could never have had any contact with the fLDS. “

Not even if the black girl went to an abused women shelter , crying for attention (I mean help), and heard Sarah’s story, or another FLDS young bride, who was also named Sarah, or yet another young FLDS bride, coincidentally named Sarah ???

We must make children suffer abuse, stay under-educated, un-doctored and raped for the good of the Constitution. < /sarc>

By golly, I think you've got it!

It's printed right there in penumbras of the Bill of Rights. Right next the the right of the parents to murder their unborn children.

here is the proverbial problem.

The Genie is out of the bottle. The first warrant is now shot to pieces as derived from a false report. The question is now whether 1. the federal warrant saves the first warrant discovery and 2. whether the obtaining of the second warrant insulates the “fruit of the poinsonous tree” argument.

You have SOME grounds to argue inevitability and plain sight. (see the hot pursuit cases which put officers in position to see an unrelated other criminal activity)

The man in the warrant in colorado who was falsely accused is free to go and will not be charged. However, that does not reboot the situation. No matter how bad the first warrant as a matter of law, the law may have a seperate investigation requirement even IF NO CRIMINAL CHARGES EVER GET FILED. IOW the guilty may have to legally get a free pass to protect the children’s future.

Regardless, it is going to be a mess.

No. I highly doubt it.

I've never seen an fLDS girl in a women's shelter. It's not like they can walk away from the compound, down to the shelter and ask for help.

There are groups, mostly of ex-flds women who are very active in protecting and women (or children) that escape the sect. Their lives are at risk and it is a serious business.

Have you seen pictures of Flora Jessop? She is one tough, hardened cookie, and she doesn't take anybody's crap. She is one of the activists helping those who can escape.
