When liberals don't like a policy, they turn it into a giant boogeyman. The liberal response to the cold war was to run around screaming for 30 years that the nuclear missiles were about to fall and wipe out the entire planet. Endless tedious novels, movies and songs were produced based on the premise that we were all about to die. At the heart of that obsession was the idea of "Nuclear Winter", a concept which had as little credibility as human centered global warming does.

I would just add that a large part of the liberal mindset is based on narcissism and secular humanism, which denies the existence of God and places Man at the center of all things.

The very notion that we can destroy anything about the earth, whether it be the atmosphere, the ozone layer, or the earth itself, while we can't come up with a cure for the common cold, can only originate in a mind so warped by the idea that Man is his own God that the ignorance in that mind rivals that which existed in the Dark Ages.

I believe the rise of liberalism is a tool to help divide and destroy the Constitution. I don't think there is as many true believers in socialism as there is in totalitarianism. There are too many government toadies that want large expanding government controlling our lives. The fine line between national socialism and Communism is being jelled into something new, efficient, and controlling. The government toadies see this new form of the old fascism but they can define it with new terms. It doesn't matter how they describe it now. It still want no part of it.
