March 18, 2008 -- Director Nick Broomfield's film, Battle for Haditha, received its world television premiere last night in England--and finished dead last in its time slot.
While nearly six million viewers tuned into The Fixer last night, less than a million tuned to Channel 4's presentation of Battle for Haditha. Those viewers represented less than five percent of the viewing public in England, and is equivalent to the audience for a bottom-rated cable news show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, in the United States.
Popular Monday night soaps, Coronation Street and EastEnders, drew nearly 11 million viewers each.
Late last year, Broomfield lost his U.K. distributor, Metrodome Distribution, after the movie failed to generate interest on the festival circuit. North American distributors stayed away completely.
Broomfield based his film on second and third-hand accounts of the incident and falsely claimed it was based on the stories of Marines "who were there".

A well-deserved fate for fiction that the director tried to pass off as fact.

Yeah!
Splat!!
I’m still miffed that Lily funked out on our roadtrip to Toronto. I was so looking forward to throwing popcorn boxes up into the projector light.
Outstanding News!!
Looks like HollywoodPOS’s acting career is in the toilet and Broomfield might be looking to direct elementary school plays.
Nothing like seeing an enemy take a bang on the head to brighten one’s outlook!
Next up on the loony left loser anti-war film non-hit parade is probably going to be Stop Loss.Which in its already limited release to critics is being burned for being just a bad movie.
Haven’t heard from Holly in ages! Sure hope he hasn’t hung himself from the shower rod in despair. This is one crappy movie that’s not coming to a “theater near you”.
Nick Broomfield, ha! The next Oliver Stone this guy ain’t.
What a fraud!

I saw a preview for STOP LOSS the other day. It clearly is just a political statement—not a movie. Audiences will stay away in droves.
ROFLOL!
When Lily saw that WALKING TALL III was on CineMax, she dropped us like a hot potato.
I put the “fun” in funkin.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I wouldn’t drop you. You are my favorite spud.
Speaking of Ollie Stone, have you heard about his upcoming movie, PINKVILLE? I was surprised that Bruce Willis is involved (as Gen Peers, who led the investigation). Wonder what the chances are that it won’t suck?
