"I asked him point blank why these Vietnamese refugees, with no money, friends, or knowledge of the language could be, within a generation, so successful..."
His answer, only a few words, not only floored me but became sort of a razor that has allowed me ever since to slice through all of the rhetoric regarding race relations that Democrats shovel our way during election season:
"We're owed and they aren't."

As noted in #48, I accepted the excerpt hit. The title was the title given by the author. You don’t like it, email him
at editor@americanthinker.com.
I am, however, not responsible for the drive-by Freeper knuckleheads who post without reading. They discredit the site, not I.
Read the "Vision" statement and "The Ten Point Plan" on the Black Panther's website. Go seek it out and you'll read some real frightening stuff.
It's the same mindset shared with many in the black community--that they think they're "owed."
eeeks... going to need Internet glasses... lol
LOL—it’s happened to me, too.
dang... and that was a rant and a half... lol
YIKES!
Have to disagree.
If an education was “owed” to people, the gub’mint would have long since “busted” the NEA and and its fellow unions and crushed the idiots that run so many universities.
It’s quite an essay. Please post regular essays and commentary from the American Thinker in the editorial sidebar. It gets more eyeballs. Their blogs are a different matter.
Do you know who the guy is that they have flashing on the upper left-hand corner of the homepage?
"Tard" refers to the ping list members and not to the subject of the thread!

I had a neighbor many years back, a black woman, very proud and Afrocentric. she was enrolled in college on the Gov teat, held a degree in African studies, dressed sharply in African attire and was a well spoken and very educated.
She put on a good face for us all and I really was proud of her tenacity.
It's a shame, her studies kept her in place and that her children would come to my house looking for a "baloney' sandwich because there was nothing to eat, because she spent the money on the fancy garb.
Bookmarked!
We now know that Barack Obama really has no interest in the “audacity of hope.”
With his race speech, Obama became a peddler of angst, resentment and despair. Too bad he doesn’t direct that angst at the liberal establishment that has sold black people a bill of goods since the 1960s.
read point 10, note the last sentence:
But, when a long train of abuses and usurpation, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Agitation fulfills their agenda. It's a REVOLUTION they want...and no one can start a revolution by reminding their followers HOW LUCKY THEY ARE TO LIVE IN THE US! (Nor by reminding them the above words relate to INDEPENDANCE FROM THE ENGLISH MONARCHY!)
I continue to ask: WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? But no one replies:
Join us in the streets of Denver as we resist a two-party system that allows imperialism and racism to continue unrestrained
Seems to be fronted by Glenn Spagnuolo of Colorado who has been behind other LLL activist groups and alliances.

The group, which is expecting up to 50,000 protesters from across the country, plans to march from Civic Center to the Pepsi Center, where the convention will be held, on Aug. 24, even though a parade route or a security zone hasnt been announced.
--------------
One of Glenn Spagnuoloâs activist friends is former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill. Churchill is well known for his controversial views and statements about the victims of the 9-11 attacks.
Birds of a feather...
