It was. We lived there for a year, and it was definitely spooky. Scenic, though, compared to everywhere else we’ve lived.

The only time I have even been there was passing through on the way to Florida in 2000.

We lived in Manchester, which is on the Interstate between Nashville and Chattanooga. My husband went to graduate school at a branch of the University of Tennessee at Tullahoma, which is off there in the woods someplace. When we got there from Oklahoma, after 14 hours on the road, I thought we would just drive around in the trees until we hit Alabama!

I'm going to pull out "The Wonderful Sausage Machine" next time we're out on the road and hit a Denny's for breakfast. If I can get the boys to jump in with me maybe we can get the whole joint standing on the tables, brandishing their sausage-laden forks for the rousing chorus.
OH! Johnny Vobeck, Johnny Vobeck, how could you be so mean?
Once day you'll be sorry for inventing that machine.
Now all the neighbors' cats and dogs will never more be seen;
They've all been ground to sausages by Johnny Vobeck's machine!
Gotta drop off; it's late. Or early, depending upon your timezone. I wouldn't even be on, but I just got my home machine back up and running. It had been locking up under load, and I couldn't figure out why. I shut it down to clean the dog hair and dust out of the vents and heat sinks, and discovered that the fan on my video card had died. So, whenever I did anything graphically intensive, the GPU would get so hot it would seize up, and the screen would simply freeze. Well, to my chagrin I also discovered that they don't sell replacement fans for video cards, so I had to buy a small square fan of approximately the same size, cut the guts out of the plastic frame, and transplant them onto the metal vent plate that screws onto my graphics card, all the time keeping my fingers crossed that the blade assembly would be thin enough to fit.
After 90 minutes work with X-ACTO knives, needle-nosed pliers, and a few judiciously applied drops of 3-second crazy glue I had a custom-built cooling fan assembly successfully installed on my card. I'm happy it worked, I don't have the slack, right now, to drop $250 for a new video card.

How very high-tech.
I saw the first batch of ducklings earlier this week - mallards. Should be more before long, and Canada goose babies.

If I were awake, I’d probably grumble about your lack of commiseration.
Fortunately for you ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I’ve been reducing my coffee consumption, with the goal of not drinking any when it finally gets hot here.

Oh, I don’t look that bad without coffee. Just a little droopy around the eyes, but I have some Mary Kay goo to fix that.

Oh, I didn’t mean to tag you with it Tax-chick. I just wanted to find this thread later to pick up some photos from the first few pages for my collection of funny/dumb/sad photos that I have at work.
Sorry for the mix up.
