I find it difficult to believe that a military man would be against the Second Amendment.

Taht’s his record, though.
Of course, being Mr. Stariahgt Talk, he’ll now claim otherwise.

Why? Think of the Fed laws by Johnson, Regan and George H.W. Bush. I’m sure state and local laws have been passed by military vets. The FOP leadership is anti-gun and I assume are vets.

“I find it difficult to believe that a military man would be against the Second Amendment”.
Much of the military officer corps has been indoctrinated to believe that the National Guard is the “militia”, the only militia. The Military Order of World Wars has even published a brochure to make this claim. My father was conservative, and a patriot, 42 years military service, but he bought in to this. He let me read the brochure, but when I voiced my opinion he snatched it away from me. I told him he was wrong, and we never spoke of it again.
Best you go talk with some career officers, you may be surprised by what some of them believe.

The 2nd Amendment was created to protect free people from misguided “military men.”

I find it difficult to believe that a military man would be against the Second Amendment. Then you don't know very many. They are just like everyone else, some are anti arms rights for ordinary citizens.
Ever try to take a firearm onto a military base? It can be done, but in general it's a hassle, and must be for a specific purpose, such as hunting on the larger bases/posts, or target shooting on the base range, if they allow that as many do. It wasn't always quite so bad. Back when I was on active duty in the Air Force, we could take shotguns onto base to shoot trap or skeet with no paperwork/registration, unless we lived on base and needed to store the weapons there. I did not, but IIRC, folks who lived in family housing could store arms in their houses, but those who lived in the barracks or the BOQ had to store them in the armory.
The Army post I work on does not honor my state issued CHL, and I have to be very careful, especially on Mondays, not to accidentally take a handgun onto post. Weapons can be taken onto post, for hunting or target shooting, but they must be registered with the Provost Marshall ahead of time.

I find it difficult to believe that a military man would be against the Second Amendment. It shouldn't be too big a a surprise in this case, since he's on record against the First Amendment.
