Duncan Hunter was the most conservative candidate, and it broke my heart that he dropped out. Now my goal is to vote in the primaries for the best candidate remaining, and get some others to do the same.

This is going to be strange.

This forum may actually be completely irrelevant for the first time in 10 years.

Something I lament.

I think Romney needs to play that clip where McCain says something along the line that he does not understand the economy as much as he should.
I think democrats would like to see McCain win. Allan Colmes and a dem panelist were making excuses for McCain regarding his comment about Putin being the leader of Germany. Comes dismissed it by saying everyone makes mistakes. I thought to myself, had it been president Bush, they’d be saying how stupid he is.

Lest we forget, war heroes don’t necessarily win elections.

Here’s a good place to start, give them some information on McCain!

I’ve already dug a hole in the backhills and will be hunkering down for the next 4 years. Conservatism has died. This is too damn depressing.

The others are not worth fighting for. All beleive in global warmoing, all have flip flopped so dramatically on issues that I cannot trust them.

It would have been helpful if your candidate Hunter, even after dropping out, had not come out publicly against Romney and gone off the deep edge to endorse Huckabee.

All he did was help McCain and hurt Romney. Is Huckabee who you plan to vote for?

I already voted and it was for Fred Thompson, the day after I voted early he pulled out of the race.

After that I made choice to be for Mitt Romney and I sure hope he makes it so I can vote for him when the time comes.

You’ve got five days, either that or we need to do look on the bright side of McCain, he at least has an ACU rating of 82%. He is about as liberal as Bush.

But I am still holding my nose.

If McCain gets it, it’s all over. He has no chance of winning against either Hillary or Obama. Romney does, but not McCain; and certainly not Huckabee.

I have to disagree Sun. I vote the Conservative line, not the party line. I won't be voting for any of the GOP candidates as none of them are Conservative. The "vote the best candidate" thinking is precisely what has caused the GOP to have the current crop of candidates who have either held or do hold positions contrary to Conservatism. Settling for anything less than Conservatism only begets Socialism.

I think a win in Florida hardly makes McCain the winner. I read an interesting projection which indicated that in the next few weeks, the three remaining candidates will basically have about the same number of delegates. McCain is expected to win in certain midwestern states, Romney in western states, and Huckabee in several southern states (although he will be limited because these states don’t have “winner take all” provisions). Interesting situation.

BUt in any case, it’s too soon to annoint McCain, although that’s what the press is trying to do because they love him for having stabbed Bush in the back a couple of times.

Thanks for your post Sun. That is what I was thinking as well. We all need to write to our local papers and call local radio stations, and maybe even call our Representatives to make sure they DON'T endorse McCain!

It is very hard for me to believe that all the citizens that fought amnesty are now going to elect Mr. amnesty. I'm thinking many apathetic voters haven't really paid attention and don't realize McCain IS Mr. Amnesty. We need to educate them!

McCain won Florida because of the immigrants and the endorsement of Crist and Martinez.

I will be sending letters tomorrow. Thanks for sharing yours Sun...we should add that McCain has Juan Hernandez (Mr. open Borders himself) on his paid staff!

I agree with you for the reasons you cited in your article and more. I am not really for any of the GOP that are now running, but I see McCain as being the worst of those currently on the GOP ticket.
