I Am SO Depressed ("No, Fred... Please Don't Go!")

This can be either a commiseration thread, or an action thread.
I'm completely miserable about Fred Thompson's withdrawal from the campaign. Just flat-out depressed.
On top of that, I just can't believe the sort of tacit acceptance we've all had regarding Fred's departure from the race. Not only am I complete flabbergasted that he quit, I'm amazed at how quickly we've resigned ourselves to it. Isn't this the guy we begged for in the first place?
So there you have it... console or inspire.

How do you think I feel...I was a Hunter supporter...and he went Huckabee! Dear Lord. It’s Romney for me now.

The heartbroken freeper, running out of the corral and then stopping abruptly.......repeatedly calling out, "Fred, Fred....come back, Fred, Fred, come back.....Fredddd........" as Fred slowly rides off into the sunset, looking back only once.

Once the nominee-in-waiting is known, presumably either McPain or Romney, Paul will continue to be a way station for naysayers for the rest of the primary campaign. The most anti-GWB people will feel compelled to go with Paul, who will win no primaries.

I was not in the least surprised. The sheeple won’t vote for “lower tier” candidates. They want to be with the winner. Many will alas defect to HRC in the false hope of getting free “health care”.

I hope that you are not involved in self-deception, but the choices are so bad. HRC is waiting in the wings to take it all, with her Bill doing the heavy lifting!

A brokered convention would probably choose Jeb as the nominee if the party faithful control matters.

It seems that in TX hundreds of thousands of Democrats have gone into the Republican primaries to nominate “moderates”. We have few really staunch conservatives in TX.

I am reluctantly pulling the lever for Mitt now, but I have my doubts about his ability to win. the South will be an issue.
So I just look forward.

I prepared myself mentally when I caught wind of all the polls leading into South Carolina, so I wasn’t devastated or anything.

It wasn’t weakness that drove Fred to drop out.
It takes courage and great humility to face the tsunami wall of opposition and realize that media and family circumstances cannot be changed.
Fred is not a thornbird.
