Fred could still “save America” from Hillary even if he is not in the race.

He can do this by endorsing someone other than Rudy, McCain and Huckabee. Someone who can beat Hillary....Mitt Romney.

I would not argue that but Fred has money and guts. I think he could have a strategy that can see beyond the next day or two. Of course, he may have intel that MSM is going to either continue to black him out or trash him while glorifying traitor McCain. In which case he needs to go public on that ... AND stay in the race daring the media to prove him wrong.

I’m wondering if these rumors are, like the last ones, floated by Huck’s folks?

BACK OFF FREDHEADS — give the man room to breathe.

He is in the hospital with his mother. We are not entitled to know what is going on — it is a private family matter.

I cannot imagine the issues Senator Thompson is pondering at this time. Pneumonia in someone his mother’s age is deadly. I would not want to be deciding between being in a debate and being by my mother’s bedside. It would be very difficult to be able to debate and if something tragic happened while away debating it would be very difficult to deal with the emotions of not being at the bedside.

I believe this speaks volumes of the man’s character.

This is a way to show the country the importance of family and personal sacrifice for the sake of others.

To be sure it comforts his mother that he is by her bedside.

I stand by Senator Thompson. He does not owe me anything. I can wait for the information that comes whenever it comes, and just for the record not only did I max out my donations last year, but I took a week ov vacation last week and spent it in wonderful South Carolina telephoning voters.

So please exercise a little patience and understanding people — stop acting like the MSM and liberal crybabies and exhibit those true conservative values that cause most of us to support Fred Thompson, and only Fred Thompson.

A socialistic U.S. is definitely coming no matter what, and any negative attacks to this statement won’t stop it from actually happening. It’s the leftist politicians who will eventually also end the existence of FR with the full enactment of the Fairness Doctrine sometime after January ‘09. Too many conservatives will decide to either “blank” the Presidential race or to not show up at all on November 4, and this will truly cost them dearly throughout each and every level of political office. OTOH, the leftist voters will truly have plenty of political incentives as to why they will show up all over the U.S. on November 4. Starting on January ‘09, the new leftist super-majority in both the White House and Congress will definitely destroy the entire U.S. on all of the issues while also doing all that they can do to truly remain in power for the long-term, and both the Republican Party and all of U.S. conservatism will eventually die off.

With his poor showing in South Click and no other conservative candidate in the race, I will do what other good conservatives should do. Support a brokered convention. Lets hope this drags out all the way to the convention. Only then do we have a chance of getting a real conservative elected candidate.

If Fred can’t win Florida, we should be rooting for Guiliani. Lets start splitting this electoral pie up.

Oh, yeah, I want this guy as my POTUS...NOT!

Bain Capital, which today has assets of about $60 billion—that’s their number-and about a third of that comes from these offshore operations that Romney set up when he was still there, in particular, companies that are set up—really, they’re just mail drops, they’re mailboxes; they don’t have any staff, they don’t have any operations.

The one on Grand Cayman Island is a Post Office Box, Box 60D, on Grand Cayman Island, and the ones in Bermuda are at a lawyer’s office.

But they’ve got them in other places as well. And they bring in somewhere above $25 billion a year. $25 billion a year of non taxable revenue that the U.S. will never see, or benefit from.

Yup! That's good 'ol Myth for you.

I agree that at present his number one thought must be his mother and also being pragmatic as us conservatives need to be, imagine if he had gone to the debate and something had happened to his mother the media and his opponents in one way or another would never have let it rest apart from the guilt he would have carried.

Anyone have any polls out of Louisianna? I know they don’t really mean anything just a little curious.

You know what I really hate? That we have such terrible choices for candidates. Guiliani, I can understand being in the race since he at least showed some guts and poise during the 9/11 attacks. But WTF is Huckabee and Ron Paul doing in the race? McCain-Feingold is probably responsible for Romney entering the race. That was another in a long list of betrayals from John McCain. It's a shame Thompson voted for that bill. It's the only mark I see against him and it's one I can live with considering his beliefs. But the fact that Romney is running is partly Fred's fault. Now Fred is behind and now he is dealing with his mother's sickness. I'm disgusted because there is no viable alternative to Fred.

And get this, Republicans aren't voting for him! You want to know why? Because the Republican Party is has obviously turned its back on its principles.

I will not vote for McCain against a democrat. I will not vote for Huckabee against a democrat. The Republican Party didn't get the message to shape up after '06? I guarantee it'll get the message in '08.

I've voted Republican since I was 18 and I'm 34 now. This could be the first election I sit out. Let the party suffer. Let the public suffer. They deserve it.
