Romney camp responds:
http://thepage.time.com/response-to-huckabee-event-from-romney-campaign/
Good afternoon, folks-
For those of you who saw it with your own eyes, theres no need for me to describe how bizarre it was.
But for those of you who didnt, The Politico has a report of Mike Huckabees meltdown at a campaign press conference today where he displayed a negative TV ad attacking Governor Romney, at the same time he said he was running a positive campaign.

I don’t know if I would call that a meltdown, but it is pretty funny.
To: Tossup
Is he trying to get the ads out there without paying?

Come now, this is hardly a melt down. He would have had done far more damage to Mitt had he run the ads on television stations. His campaign pressed him to run the ads, he pulled them. He showed them to the media to prove he had made the ads, so they would not accuse him of making it up.
The things the campaign had prepared about Mitt were not untrue, most of it is already in the public discussoin at this point.

Enough is Enough, Huckabee.
Just call him Mr. Passive Agressive Man.
To: nathanbedford
Actually he just pasted. That’s the way the article was written by Halpern.

Good tactic if you have limited money.

Well, that should do it for Huckabee. Not presidential material. Can you just imagine if he did something similar with foreign policy? Announce it — then denounce it.

This might prove to be the Huckster’s biggest mistake , if true, as he just handed Romney a free pass through Iowa .
He should run the Ad and expose Romney for being the Liberal he truly is .

Look, see, we’re not going to be running this ad, and let me stand back so you can focus your camera on the screen. What? Oh, sure, all of that attack is true, uh-huh, but we’re sure that the voter doesn’t want a negative campaign. We’re taking the high road. Hmm? Oh, right, let me make sure you can see this placard here with the truth about Romney. Yup, we’re taking the high road here, ending this constant cycle of negative coverage. Hmm? Oh, we’re not really going to talk about the ad, because we’re not running it, but we’ll keep the disc looping for you so you can get additional shots of it for your coverage...

Huckster telling the truth about Romney is negative ? Telling the truth about Mitt is fine.....acting like your holier than thou, above reproach and still dropping the ads for reporters to view isn't just tacky..........It is Damn Cowardly!

Stupid is as stupid does. Either attack or not don’t play stupid and withdrawal before the big moment. All that does is disappoint and leave no one satisfied.

And ain’t it a pity that one of those pesky bloggers recorded the ad and put it on YouTube. But, we’re running a postive campaign.

I can't believe that these are the two likeliest Republicans we've got to choose from.
Oy.
