Fred's most prized possession:
Fred Thompson News ^ | Brad G

I love when Fred makes a mockery out of the media (see here and here). And today the AP asked the candidates their most prized keepsakes:

REPUBLICANS:

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani: "My grandfather's pocket watch."

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee: "Probably my Tobias bass guitar or maybe, I've got a handmade musket rifle that was made by a guy in Eureka Springs, Ark. I've hunted turkey with it. It's really an amazing firearm. Probably one of those two as far as just real heirlooms."

Arizona Sen. John McCain: "I have a baseball signed by Ted Williams, my childhood hero, a Marine pilot as well."

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: 1962 Rambler American, which his sons bought for him. "The last year that my dad was president of American Motors and made Ramblers was 1962, so it's a connection with my dad and that era."

Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson: "Trophy wife."

Dems:

Sen. Hillary Clinton: Probably my collection of the testicles of several prominent Republican Senators and House Members.

Sen. Barack Obama: My Koran, signed by my mom’s baby-daddy, er, my Dad.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich: My hand-carved oak pedal extenders for my Prius.

That would make a great tagline? May I borrow it?

They don’t like any Republican anyway though.

Yes, true, and all the more reason he could get flamed for the remark.

Fred cuts through bullshit with a chain-saw.

Not a pretty image. Fred would need to take a shower when he was done.

His answers of late have been flippant if entertaining, of a nature that suggests he's thinking, "Screw it! If I can't get out of single digits, I might as well enjoy myself for the rest of the ride."

If he were pulling down Huckabee's numbers (and it's a shame he isn't) he wouldn't be flippant like this.

Excellent point you are making.

The “no show of hands” remarks were abrupt, I thought.

Actually, this is exactly WHY he’s going to begin to surge. The undecideds who have yet to find a guy to back will eat this up.

Has more to do with the liberal focus on it, and the dubious history of Obama’s religious background.

Not to mention, his father DOES fit the stereotype outlined in my JOKE. Yes, it was a JOKE.

If I offended, I didn’t mean to. It was only meant to outline Obama’s own history.

But it’s not sexist to comment about Hillary, or for Fred to joke about his trophy wife?

Naw. Being a trophy wife rocks. Mr. C. will never regret the day he won me in that Rock, Paper, Scissors competition.

“Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson: “Trophy wife.”

ROFLMAO, if he really said that, good on him but I think he may have just lost the N.A.G. vote./s

Fred would have said that even if he was 60% in the polls. Fred is Fred and always will be Fred.....that is why us Fredheads think he is so dang cool....God bless him!!!!

“Musket rifle”?

My first thought too. It is either a musket or a rifle, no such thing as a "“Musket rifle.” Another "informed" supporter of the 2nd?

Why would he get grief over it. I bet his wife is laughing about the comment even. If she is ok with it, then everyone else in the media should STFU!
