In memory of the late Norman Mailer who passed away yesterday, I present this video in which he is fighting actor Rip Torn on the set of his forgettable Maidstone movie which Mailer wrote and directed in 1970. It was supposed to be an improvised fight that got out of hand when Rip Torn slammed Mailer in the head several times with a hammer. The result is more entertaining than a Bum Fights video! Here is an explanation of this scene in WIKIPEDIA:

While filming Maidstone, Torn, apparently unhappy with the film, struck director and star of the film Norman Mailer three times in the head with a hammer. With the camera rolling, Mailer bit Torn's ear and they wrestled to the ground. The fight continued until it was broken up by cast and crew members as Mailer's children screamed in the background. The fight is featured in the film. Although the scene may have been planned by Torn, the bloodshed by both actors is real and Torn was reportedly truly outraged by Mailer's direction.

Norman Mailer always had a fascination for violence and here it came back to bite him. This was supposed to be an improvised fight scene but Rip Torn was so pissed off at Mailer that he wasn't faking. The anger and the fight was for real.

Mailer was responsible for setting a murderer free because of the perp’s writing ability. The murderer murdered again (surprise). S. Sarandon named her kid after the murderer, too. Jonah Goldberg had a good piece today about this loser.

You are right about Susan Sarandon. I didn’t know that. How must her son feel about being named after a murderer? Ewww! Good thing the moonbat Sarandon is too old to have kids, she might name the next one Mumia!

I had heard she named her son after Jack Henry Abbot, but assumed the kid must have been born sometime after she started campaigning for his release and before he murdered that young man. However, according wikipedia I was too generous in giving her the benefit of the doubt in thinking she wouldn't name her child after a cold blooded sociopath on purpose. The boy was born seven years after the murder. She's a wingnut.
