exactly !! - I didn’t care for the format of “facebook” or “my space” ........ PLAXO allows users to fuse all of their networks and consolidate their contact list.. I have found it VERY helpful in building my network of contacts..

I now use PLAXO for business/social and LinkedIN primarily for just professional contacts

Well, you are light years ahead of me. I don’t even get to most of my Yahoo group emails, sadly.

lol... The problem I have with the Yahoo groups is “repetition” mostly on a 1 to 1 ratio... most folks don’t read all the e-mail and won’t take the time to scroll back and read previous e-mails to get an answer to a question.. Different people will post the same questions over and over again flooding your e-mail inbox... I guess that’s why 30 second commercials are necessary, its about the attention span of the average voter.. LOL

Meetup is the same way. But I try to keep an eye on it.

in large part yes.. but the "immediately observable" significance of the "meetup" concept is the "MAP"... for example take a peek at the current "MAP" for the Duncan Hunter group http://duncanhunter.meetup.com/about/

This is what I look at for a "snapshot" of National support.. this is why I emphasize new members joining the NATIONAL group, as well as their State group.. Assuming that they have inputed their correct location into their profile you can hover over the balloons on the map and see how many folks are in that area... As the groups grow I hope to see at least ONE group in each State... This is the "Big Picture" goal that I envisioned when I started forming the group(s)... The correspondence that goes on in the e-mails is good, but we need to all be focusing on the BIG PICTURE, and that is getting at least ONE group in each State, and then start breaking the State groups down into regions that actually go out and do some grassroots campaining.. anyway... you get my point

I agree, meetup is being used in that form right now. But that isn’t the true intention of meetup. We are suppose to be building a local network with it and actually meeting. Some have been doing that. Others are having a slower build.

MeetUp will change form, soon.

B4DH.

Here’s a very recent poll showing Hunter at 4%.

Here’s an intrade link to the forum site discussing how Hunter might be gaining traction.

Here’s one showing Fred at 6%, and discussing why.

One thing prediction markets are better at — their only bias is whether someone can make money trading the futures contracts.

Fred has lost ~30 points at Intrade over the last few weeks, looks like it’s stabilizing at ~6%.

exactly right... it is building slower than I would have liked to see it.. I know a LOT of folks would rather stay in touch on MySpace or FaceBook where its a little bit more annonymous, joining meetup is a HUGE step because you are actually putting your name/location out there for others to see and meetup with you in person.. ideally work together locally, especially being a voice to your LOCAL Republican Executive Committee.. folks who have never attended a local Republican Party meeting are missing MEGA opportunites to swing the vote in Duncan Hunters favor..

I’m not a member of myspace, plaxo or whatever!

But I saw DH on w/Glenn Beck yesterday. It was an EXCELLENT interview. Beck said some friend of his said that he should invited Rep. Hunter on his program, since they agree on almost everything. Maybe Beck will start endorsing him, or at least getting his name out there. And with both his TV and radio programs, that would sure help move things along!
