Gun Control Zealots Await Democrat Victory

This week’s school shooting in Cleveland has again raised the illogical cry to take guns away from legal owners because a disturbed youth wielding illegal guns has done something crazy. One of the stupidest aspects of liberal philosophy (and one of Mayor Giuliani’s main handicaps) is the belief that our Founding Fathers made a mistake in enshrining in our Constitution the right of individuals to bear arms.

True. They can't wait for a Rudy victory.

While it’s true that Giuliani has favored illogical and unconstitutional gun control laws as mayor, I see no evidence that he has a program to institute them as president. The same can not be said of Democrat candidates and their supporters.

.."While it’s true that Giuliani has favored illogical and unconstitutional gun control laws as mayor, I see no evidence that he has a program to institute them as president."..

Yet you believe he will uphold, defend, and protect the Constitution of the United States. Please elaborate some more.

Don’t get me wrong. My candidate is Fred Thompson, but if the nomination goes to Rudi I will support him against the alternatives. It would be sheer folly for anny Republican to turn his back on a Republican nominee.

..so a politician who will pander to a liberal majority to sell out rights that are beyond a vote will somehow find his principles in tact, while holding a higher and more important office?

Anyone who votes for Rudy is no friend of gun rights. He will sell out the Constitution even more effectively than Hillary, because he'll put the "Republican" label on the prostitution of justice.

If Republicans do not unite behind the nominee, even with reservations, we will lose. This country runs on compromise; if you cannot compromise in some way, I cannot take you seriously.

Compromise is important, to be certain, but not on core issues. You can’t say, “look, we’re trying to beat the devil, so let’s put up a devil of our own, and if you won’t vote for the devil, you’re not really trying to get rid of the devil.” That’s just impossible to swallow.

If Republicans do not unite behind the nominee, even with reservations, we will lose.

If the Republican Party nominates someone who betrays core values, even if "the lesser of two evils", we will lose.

We will not support a nominee who
- supports the murder of children for convenience
- supports the disarming of citizens facing criminals.

A candidate who supports the murder of innocents and facilitation of criminals WILL NOT WIN. PERIOD.

Nominate Rudy, get Hillary. Simple.

While past performance is no guarantee of future results, it's generally the best evidence out there. I'm not sure why some people want to deny that Rudy is a gun grabber?

Appreciate the clarification.

"..It would be sheer folly for any Republican to turn his back on a Republican nominee.."

True enough, but it is approaching sheer folly to label Rudy a Republican. If our party allows Rudy to be the nominee, we have failed our country.

I was thinking back to a past Republican convention. Probably, 1992. {someone correct me if I'm wrong} More specifically, I was thinking of one of those cute talking points rebutting Slick Willie's alleged status as a "new Democrat". It went, "You can't be one kind of a man in person and a different kind as President" - or something close to that. Clinton would go on to prove that to be very true. It is folly to hope that Rudy would be any different regarding his pro-abortion and anti 2nd Ammendment positions because he was elected president. It is also folly to believe a "Hillary in drags" would be an improvement over Hillary. {Just ask California conservatives}

I'm a country before party guy. {I'll bet you are, too} If Rudy is our nominee, the party is lost. Time to get to work with a third party to save the country. A pity that would be. Until 2006 the traitor leadership of the Democrat party was on the ropes, IMO.

Another reason to nominate Ron Paul.
