She spread her wings, and prepared to take off. "Tell you one thing:", she called. "I'm glad I'm better at capturing mice than some preachers are at capturing hearts and minds !"

I was skeptical, but poked on the link anyway.

Well worth the read! Thanks for posting.

Ms Owl blinked. “We get to meet church mice, of course!”

“Ah. And when you meet these mice you ....?”

“We ... invite them to dinner.”

What goes around, comes around.
I passed by his garden, and marked, with one eye,
How the Owl and the Panther were sharing a pie:
The Panther took pie-crust, and gravy, and meat,
While the Owl had the dish as its share of the treat.
When the pie was all finished, the Owl, as a boon,
Was kindly permitted to pocket the spoon;
While the Panther received knife and fork with a growl,
And concluded the banquet by —

Martin Luther, on what makes a good preacher:

"A good preacher should have these qualities and virtues. First, he should be able to teach in a right and orderly way. Second, he should have a good head. Third, he should be able to speak well. Fourth, he should have a good voice. Fifth, a good memory. Sixth, he should know when to stop. Seventh, he should be sure of his material and be diligent. Eighth, he should stake body and life, good and honor on it. Ninth, he must suffer himself to be vexed and flayed by everybody."

Dear Mr. Watts! (we sang a hymn of his on Sunday)

I passed by his garden, and saw the wild brier,
The thorn and the thistle grow broader and higher;
The clothes that hang on him are turning to rags;
and his money still wastes till he starves or begs.

Or, as my dear dad always says, “No souls are saved after the first twenty minutes!”

I'm just glad to find out it's not a skin disease.

We've had our share of family medical problems, that's no secret. Be it my heroic struggle with fumblitis, my son's chronic case of heebie jeebies, or my daughter's battle with lycanthropy.

This sermonitis won't be the end of us, you can't keep an Owl DOWN!!!
