Congratulations to Ron Paul -- You have passed Duncan Hunter in the FR poll !!
Oh but wait a sec, after a more careful analysis there seems to be a slight difference between the "Members" and the "Non-Members" I am not smart enought to understand scientific polls like this one, so can someone please explain it to me.

Which is precisely the reason FDT should drop out, so that ALL conservatives can vote for the only REAL conservative in the race.. Just my suggestion FRiend.
Oh, and btw, THANK YOU for serving.
I am living my dream here in the sandbox... it is an honor to serve..
you know even though I might disagree with some of my fellow FReepers who support FDT in the PRIMARY, we are still a big happy family in the GENERAL election...
FReegards,
David
I hope so, we have a lot to lose if we cannot pull together after its over and the candidate picked.
That's a defensible thesis. I'll even go you one further: Ron Paul is an issue for the same reason Ross Perot was, which was the Republicans have forgotten what they're supposed to stand for. Do that long enough, and the base starts to go off the reservation.
Let the Banning Begin ... Polls Remove Ron Paul (2)

News Analysis
It has long been the contention of GOP Strawpolls that Ron Paul supporters were “spamming” their poll. They threatened to remove his name, and now they’ve gone and done it - though exactly when they did it is not clear. Ron Paul supporters only began to mention it recently in any case.
Ironically, the list below does not contain the name of Alan Keyes, either. Whether this is an oversight, or intentional, remains to be seen.
Ron Paul is running at five percent in New Hampshire and garnering plenty of press and debate attention nationwide. Bill O’Reilly just featured him and CNN, as has been reported, also sought to have him on the air. 60 Minutes is reportedly doing a feature on Ron Paul.
With so much attention being paid to one candidate, albeit not a “front-runner” it makes little sense for a major Internet poll to remove his name. The poll itself, rather than Ron Paul, risks a long, slow slide into irrelevancy.

Additionally, www.pajamasmedia.com began banning Ron Paul as early as February of 2007. The site now carries the following note regarding their presidential poll:
Over 130,000 votes have been cast in the weekly PAJAMAS MEDIA PRESIDENTIAL STRAW POLL. The thirty-fifth week has officially begun.
NEW DEAL: Pajamas Media editors have noted that the number of weekly votes in our poll has diminished drastically from the tens of thousands cast at the outset. For months now, many readers have been complaining to us about the increasing inutility of the poll because of vote-swarming by second tier candidates. Many voters have lost interest and are not participating. Websites that had run our widget were no longer doing so.
Something needed to change.
Therefore, especially since the campaign itself appears to be narrowing its focus to front-running candidates, henceforth the Pajamas Media Poll will be restricted to those first tier candidates listed on the front poll page of the leading online poll aggregator Real Clear Politics. As of now, that is four candidates on the Democratic side and five on the Republican. We will change our lineup on the Sunday after RCP does, if it does.
pajamas media poll:
Fred Thompson 30 46.9%
Rudy Giuliani 21 32.8%
Mitt Romney 8 12.5%
John McCain 4 6.3%
Mike Huckabee 1 1.6%

I am very confident that we will pull it together.. you might not know this.. but I work behind the scenes a lot on the folks that say they will "sit out" if their candidate does not win.. that only HELP the HildaBEAST, IMHO
excellent. :)
I see, thanks for explaining that to me.... I was starting to wonder if Ron Paul actually had the support of 1,281 FReepers... NOT !

Yes it may be scientific, and may in fact represent the opinion of the population as of the date... however it gives little or any indication how folks will feel on election day.
I believe ACTIVE FReepers represent the CONSERVATIVE BASE in America fairly accurately, you can’t deny the fact that Duncan Hunter has far more “ACTIVE FReepers” that support him than any other candidate. I am not talking about the FReepers who vote in a FR poll, but the ones that are out there posting everyday like you and I... that is the only point I was making... that data might be irrelevent to you, but it is significant to me...
FReegards,
David
Of course I can.
Note that it’s nearly all non-member votes. So in other words, the half-dozen Paulestinians have logged off, they’re erasing their cookies, and they’re FReeping the poll.
OH PLEASE DO !!! — since you can’t post the names, just Freepmail me the number, but pleae be able to back up your number.. the criteria that I used, was a PUBLIC POST or a TAGLINE that clearly proclaims your intent to vote for Fred in the Republican Primary... I know you will say don’t want to “waste time” collecting that data, and that is fine, but you can’t dispute my statement without doing so..
FReegards,
David
The point I made in the original post my FRiend, the post was indended as sarcasm, although I neglected to use the /sarcasm> tag -— my bad
I’m not going to contribute to your suspension (again) based on this topic. But I will tell you again that you’ve proven nothing, there’s nothing for me to refute.
Let me assure you that I want to be known as a Hunter supporter and you and any other FReeper has my permission to count me in the fold. I'm not smart enough to catch on to all the infighting and politics within FR. I was dumb enough to think that we were all in this fight together though supporting different candidates. That is certainly a right that we all share.
I support Duncan Hunter because he is such a well spoken man who understands each and every issue and I agree with him on all points. I've never had the opportunity to support such a strong candidate in my 40 voting years and believe me, I consider Hunter to be the last chance for this country to turn around the big government crowd with their hands a every aspect of our private business. We can not allow the Hillobamaedwards crowd to get their communistic hands on our rights. The only candidate to do that mammoth job is Duncan Hunter. No other Republican has the guts and boldness to be able to handle it without caving to special interest groups. How do I know that? Observation! The dems all bring far left attributes to the mix and despite what they say, will destroy the USA in 6 months.
If I don't sound like an out of the political closet, dyed in the wool Duncan Hunter supporter, you, D.O., please enlighten me because I might slip up out of ignorance but not desire to save the country with the clout of Duncan Hunter.
DUNCAN HUNTER in '08
Give me a stout hearted man. : )
“Hillarys team is probably sending him campaign contributions and after his inevitable loss in the primaries, will urge him to run as an Independent.”
Very smart theory on your part.
I have read about a political pundit saying about the same thing. That MoveOn.org wants Ron Paul to do well enough in the polls to encourage him to run third party, thus the Dems win.
Paul did run for president with the Libertarian Party before he became a Republican.
“Oh but wait a sec, after a more careful analysis there seems to be a slight difference between the “Members” and the “Non-Members” I am not smart enought to understand scientific polls like this one, so can someone please explain it to me.”
LOL
Here’s what happened in Ron Paul’s OWN State of TEXAS, when Ron Paulbots couldn’t spam or cheat:
“Duncan Hunter doubled the totals of the next-closest candidate, garnering 534 of approximately 1,400 votes cast. Fred Thompson came in second with 266 votes, and Paul rounded out the top three with 217 votes.
Here are all the results:
Duncan Hunter: 534
Fred Thompson: 266
Ron Paul: 217
Mike Huckabee: 83
Rudy Giuliani: 78
Mitt Romney: 61
Ray McKinney: 28
John Cox: 10
John McCain: 8
Sam Brownback: 6
Tom Tancredo: 6
Hugh Cort: 3”
I’m now walking away smiling and whistling. :)
