Looking at the Abortion Mills in Jackson Heights

Twice this week I checked out the abortion mills on Roosevelt Avenue. On the whole, the community seems to be repelled by their terrible activity.

Twice this week, I went to the Roosevelt Avenue area in Jackson Heights with other pro lifers and we leafletted against the abortion mills and tried to counsel women not to abort this babies. These mills - two of which are back to back - are an eyesore and I can't believe that the Health Department can't go in and find health violations inside. One of them has written on the steps "vagioplasty" - and I don't even want to think of what that involves, and "abortos baratos" (cheap abortions) to lure in the predominantly Hispanic population. However, I noticed that when people walking in the streets saw out graphic literature on abortion, they were upset and agreed to participat in the 40 days for life campaign which will begin on September 26th. I also participated in a prayer vigil from Joan of Arc church which went to another mill on 79th Street, another eye sore. These mills are blatant and disgusting. Yet thousands of people walk by them without even giving a passing thought. It is important to offer life affirming alternatives, and yes there was a turn around the other day after a young woman saw the sonogram of her new child. Pray to end abortion!

Good for you, juliej. I grew up in that area a looooooong time ago. Can’t even begin to imagine how much it’s changed. Nor can I imagine abortion mills right on the street with pedestrian traffic passing every day. I suppose those pedestrians become inured in time and stop even noticing. Great you are brining it to their attention.

We had a mobile unit with a tehcnician and a sonogram machine in addition to literature in Spanish. I spoke to a young woman who cleans up and sweeps the stairs of one of the abortion mills and asked her why she doesn’t go back to school or get a better job. One of the mills has a “ringer” in front handing out the disgusting cards. I handed out graphic literature to one of the “nurses” who works in a mill and she looked at it before she tossed it away. I hope it bothers her conscience.

These mills are not even subtle. We counted at least 10 in the area. I think even the director of the crisis pregnancy center was taken aback. IF you think that abortionists don’t target Hispanics, check out the ads in El Diario, the Spanish language newspaper.

Very important to go out there. If I am ever able to retire (probably never) I could see doing this full time. It is very fulfilling. The community, when it wakes up, does not like these abortion mills screaming at them.

Our local Planned Parenthood from 1997 to 2006 have killed 20,594 children as reported in their Annual Reports.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement to me. I have done very little - there are people who do much, much more. I hope to do more in the future. Planned Parenthood should not receive a dime of public money. Money is “fungible” - they may claim it is not going to abortions but use it that way anyway. They are a vile organization that turns children against their own parents.
