Sources close to the Israeli army told the MENA, an israeli press agency, that the IDF bombed Syria with massive strikes last week, as the world still ignores it and told us it was just an "incident".
Actually, the IDF lauched a long-prepared operation. It has been several signs since the Spring of 2007 that Syria could launch a war against Israel in a near future.
Last week, the IDF sent a team of F-15 which bombed several sites of high importance in Syria.
Quietly, without any knowledge from the rest of the world, the IDG seriously weakened the Syria military forces by a SINGLE operation.
According to Jean Tsadik, from the MENA, the operation last week was as important as the Osirak operation, in which the IDF destroyed a nuclear factory held by Saddam Hussein in the 1980's.
We didn't learn that in the news, but Israel just won a terrific victory against Syria last week.
I’m doubtful. Airstrikes and secondary explosions are difficult to muffle. All the major powers would know in hours and officials “leak”. We’d have had rumors in 24 hours.
There are so much rumors about those strikes that I have troubles to give all of them to you.
Summarize :
- the planes were not Israeli but Americans
- the planes were not Israeli but Arabs
- the panes were Israeli but targeted iraqi jihadists
- the planes were Israeli and targeted Hezbullah
- they were no planes and this story is made up by Syria
They launched missiles. What were the targets ?
Are YOU saying that Israel bombed Syria?
Or are you just reporting these "anonymous sources"?

Somehow I don't believe that LongNeck Assad is capable of being quiet about anything.
“Or are you just reporting these “anonymous sources”?”
Not anonymous. The Metula News Agency is an Israeli-based press agency which has several ties with the IDF.
Among the writers of the MENA are several Israeli high-ranked people, a former adviser of Ronald Reagan and even members of the American Amerian Enterprise Institute.
Their website is : www.menapress.com

This certainly looks like anonymous sources to me:
Sources close to the Israeli army told the MENA
Syria aknowledged this morning that Israel “had fired missiles on Syrian soil”.
Interestingly, Syria didn’t ask the UN to blame Israel for the attack not the UE.
Assad had just his ass kicked really badly.
My guess is that you will see Syria becoming really kind in the coming weeks.
This is the War on Terror, folks. The greatest victories are rarely known.
Are you suggesting that an informator in the IDF would give informations about a secret operation and give HIS NAME along ?
Have you ever been in the army ?
I'm still skeptical - how is it he's capable of being quiet?
Is he dead?
Even if his whole AF went up in blue smoke, he'd be ringing the UN's doorbell.
No, I'm just suggesting that people in the service will sometimes (sometimes, I said, a la Scott Beauchamp) say whatever they feel like saying, under cover of anonymity.
I still don't see how/why Assad would be quiet about it.
According to the same source, the “Pantsyr” could be a terrible weapon if used against IDF jets during operations, against Syria or Iran.
“I still don’t see how/why Assad would be quiet about it.”
An Arabd dictator is only quiet when he is suddenly weak. Check Syria’s behavior prior to the IDF raid and after.
I repeat : Syria didn’t ask the UN or the UE to blame Israel for the raid. Doesn’t sound strange to you ?
But he is not.
Agreed. So why not?
Yes, it sounds strange, which is exactly what makes me skeptical.
Because he is scared. That’s the point. An Arab dictator which has lost expensive weaponry during a single raid of the enemy is scared.
This is how it works in the Middle East. Assad is confused because he has been defeated. In every other option, he would have blamed Israel and rushed for war.
