I'm starting to consider the possibility.

Whenever I talk about the border I always get someone who claims that there is a conspiracy. Not that someone is allowing our country to be conquered, but that high ranking Border Patrol and government officials are on the take. In other words ... the reason they don't stop illegals and the drugs coming across the border is that they are being paid off. Most likely by the drug cartels who not only smuggle drugs across the border, but people too.

To prove my point ... I will link four major stories dealing with the current Border Patrol sector chief of Laredo, Carlos X. Carrillo.

It’s possible...if you look at a variety of sectors - be they the business scandals of Enron, or the NBA ref scandal which grows daily, honor and professionalism are increasingly getting to be dead actors in American society as unrestrained greed takes hold. I don’t find it beyond the realm of possibility that individuals within a bureaucracy are being bribed to sell out the nation.

You're probably right. Our judges probably wouldn't allow any competition for bribes.

It's occurred to me a time or two that LEO's that are hired under "affirmative action" might become the Shutztaffel (SS) of the left. Kind of like a bunch of Janet Renos with sidearms.

Never assign to a conspiracy that which can be explained by simple gross incompetency. It adds too much gravitas to both the act and the grossly incompetent person.

It takes intelligence and commitment to create a conspiracy. Stupid and lazy is much easier.
