Nick Broomfield's slanderous depiction of United States Marines killing civilians in cold-blood in Haditha on November 19, 2005 will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sept. 6-15, according to the Globe and Mail and a list of films posted by IndieWire.
Today's Globe and Mail says about the festival: "Controversial British filmmaker Nick Broomfield is also likely to create a stir with The Battle for Haditha, a dramatic account of one of the blackest days of the Iraq war when U.S. Marines slaughtered 24 Iraqis, including women and children."
Broomfield based his movie on wildly speculative stories in Time magazine and lies by Congressman John Murtha. The film brings Murtha's slander to life by depicting stressed-out Marines going beserk and shooting unarmed and peaceable Iraqis.
Marine veterans who betrayed their brothers to appear in this film insist it is fiction. They point to the fact that no real names of Marines were used.
The film is being marketed, however, as a true story.
In the movie, a thinly disguised Sgt Frank Wuterich (whose hearing begins next week) is depicted as mowing down five Iraqis beside their white taxi after the IED explosion. More slaughter ensues.
There's no end in sight to the damage that Time magazine and Congressman Murtha has done to our Marines. Congressman Murtha has refused to apologize for his remarks which paved the way for this cinematic slimefest.
Two Marines have been exonerated for Haditha. More will certainly follow. They deserve to live out the rest of their lives without the public's perception that they are murderers.
Now more than ever, Murtha must repudiate his comments...

Prior to the 60s, Leftists were marginalized. Now they’re in charge of what can only laughably be called “culture”.
Let’s go. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump.
HollywoodPOS,
I really don’t want to pay to see my heroes falsely portrayed. Can you sneak us in your limo?
FReeper road trip! (I get control of the music!)
Do you think the producer will add in the info about LCpl Sharratt’s exoneration? Or maybe change the scene in the fourth house that the IO said was unbelievable?
>Back when we used to be determined to WIN the wars we were engaged in, prior to the l960’s, what would happen to these film makers?<
They would have been hung by the neck until dead!
Andrew McLaren aka HollywoodPOS on the other hand is a former Marine, he says the film is fiction. I guess he hasn't watched the trailer because at second 47 it clearly states "Comes the unflinching true story."
This leads me to believe that McLaren is in it for the money or is a liar, actually it's probably both. He's a sad excuse for a former Marine.
Woohoo! Let’s go and make wisecracks and throw popcorn at the screen!
(Er, what kind of music, Girlene?)
You can go? Great! Does that mean Harry Potter is going to loan you his invisible cloak? Not sure if the "budget" could allocate a new scene.
I guess this scumbag Broomfield is hustling this movie out as quickly as possible, before every Marine charged is exonerated. Meanwhile, I hope the families of these Marines pursue legal actions (lawsuits) against Broomfield. Tie the p.o.s. up in court for years.
At the very least, the “based on a true story” crap has to go.
I wonder if Broomfield will edit to include the armed insurgents in the 4th house that tried to kill Justin and the Marines? I wonder if he will include a snip about the intelligence briefing about the planned attack on a convoy that included a white car?
I guess that was a dumb question, huh?
Chick, no, not a dumb question. A realistic question. Maybe Mr. Broomfield wants to get his “movie” out before too many more “truths” about what was going on that day in Haditha hit the presses. It would have made a lot more sense (cents for Mr. Broomfield) had he released this “movie” in early 2007.
:)
LOL! But, yes.
How are you at sharing control over the windows?
