Whether or not, at some level, created beings adapt to their surroundings, or change to some degree over generations is not the right understanding of that question. The real question is this: Does God exist and did he create us? Impressive understanding.

More politicians need to call out the questioner and say "That is not the right understanding of the issue".
The media always throws out leading questions because the media has an agenda. A candidate who is fast enough on his feet to say, "Whoa! Bad Question! Let me school you on that issue so you can understand my views accurately" is real plus.
So far, I've seen both Hunter and Romney do that.

Spoken brilliantly, as the true statesman Rep. Duncan Hunter is. In my book, he stands shoulder to shoulder with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We are so fortunate to have such a man running for the Republican nominee for President in this day and age.

Rasmussen Reports - Wednesday, August 01, 2007.....and four other candidates (Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Tommy Thompson, and Sam Brownback) split 2% of the vote. As admirable as Duncan is, until this dynamic changes, he will still make a GREAT Vice President under a Fred Thompson adminstration.

Duncan Hunter answers every question posed to him in an ideal manner. That cannot be said of any of the other candidates. Which is why Hunter’s the only one who can win 2008 in a landslide - if Republicans aren’t too cowardly to nominate him.

Freedom only works if we acknowledge what is so clearly set forth in the Declaration of Independence
that our rights come from the hand of Almighty God. If government gives you your rights
then government can just as easily take those rights away. Wonderful statement.

Very perceptive statement by Hunter - he is such a strait shooter and he really did a good job of explaining the danger of Atheistic thought.

I’ve read this twice and can’t tell where he stands on evolution. Although i don’t doubt him that Chris Mathews intent was to ask an embarrassing question, its still an important question. I don’t think I could vote for someone for President who didn’t believe in evolution. But I thought Hunter answered that he did believe in evolution - so the tone of article surprises me.

That's a great reply. I think much of the interest in evolution is about self-image. Some people can't stand to see themselves as beings created by something better than themselves. If they are nothing but the highest product of a biological process, they are not answerable to anyone except themselves. If they do not see themselves as being answerable, then nothing is really wrong in the pursuit of their goals. The "freedom" that this idea gives them is not good for a country based on the idea of rights. Likewise, others just want to add the "begats" in the Bible and have every mystery explained. They can't stand the fact that part of faith is understanding that we won't understand everything.
I'm glad that Mr. Hunter realizes that the most significant question is whether we as a species and each individual is ultimately answerable to a Creator. I like the thought that my president understands that he will someday answer to a higher power than just the voters.

I am an American who prays to his God for help and we solve my problems together. If the commies can remove God from public view, then people will forget begin to forget about God. When God has been forgotten, people will pray to the Government from the cradle to the grave.
Down with commie traitors who would remove God from public view.
GO HUNTER!
