Congressman Hunter Statement on Evolution:
DHgrassrevolt ^ | 7/31/07 | Duncan Hunter

Posted on 08/01/2007 12:29:03 PM PDT by pissant

Tuesday, July 31, 2007 Congressman Hunter Statement on Evolution:

The Declaration of Independence begins with these simple words, “We hold these truths to be self-evident.” Self-evident. Patently obvious. Completely clear. It is self-evident that “all men are created equal.” Not equal by government edict or by an act of a king or monarch. We are not equal by virtue of any particular article of the Constitution – we are created equal.

The Declaration continues…. “and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.” This is a vital component of what makes us a free society. We are raised from childhood in this country to accept the concept of human rights. That we as Americans are a free people. Included in those freedoms are freedom of speech, of the press… and freedom of religion. But, we often fail to teach our children why we are secure in those rights or should be. Why, as an American, you should expect the freedom to live your life as you see fit with a minimal of government interference. Why you should expect to be able to worship in the church of your choice without fear. What gives us the confidence that this is our heritage, our birth-right as Americans?

Freedom only works if we acknowledge what is so clearly set forth in the Declaration of Independence… that our rights come from the hand of Almighty God. If government gives you your rights… then government can just as easily take those rights away. Democracy easily turns to mob rule without the fundamental understanding that government of the people, by the people and for the people only works if an individual’s rights are unalienable … only if we, each, have a fundamental worth and dignity as a human being. And, that fundamental, unalienable worth only has validity if one acknowledges the true source of that worth and dignity…God.

When Chris Matthews asked one of my fellow candidates if he believed in evolution, the question was designed to embarrass my fellow Republicans. Whether or not, at some level, created beings adapt to their surroundings, or change to some degree over generations is not the right understanding of that question. The real question is this: Does God exist and did he create us? The liberties of every American citizen, including those of Chris Matthews, hang in the balance if we get the answer to that question wrong.

I think you might have a reading disability. NOWHERE, read and repeat after me, NOWHERE did I say or even indicated "about how GREAT BJ Clinton is" . I simply said he was good at campaigning, something sorely missing with Hunter and his campaign.

I know it's difficult for you to knowing support a presidential candidate that in all probability can't even carry his own state much less win a national election. The fact remains Mr. Hunter doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell in winning the republican nomination for president. Please, accept that fact and learn to live with it.

So you waste your time posting on this thread...he’s got “no chance” yet a “1%-er” got the attention of thread hijackers and trolls such as yourself.

Glad to know that there are still some on FR who live by phony polls....do they have more faith in poll than they do their candidate?

I suppose you’d let RATSmussen select the next President? Hey, polls really helped Jean Kerry, didn’t they? Since you worship them, here’s a few poll links for you....

Maybe you have not been looking at these either:

Must not even pay attention to FOX polls....

Listening to a pollster makes as much sense as pulling the lever for (R) or (D) regardless of who the candidate is. Principle over party or paltry polls that I have never heard of.

Thank you for so thoroughly documenting my interest in Lynne Hunter, and especially for the video you provided which proves my assertion that her priority is Duncan Duane’s congressional race.

I know your and the other trolls only “interest” is libel and slander....that’s the best you can do for your candidate is smear others since they have ZERO to actually run on.

My interest is exactly as stated. It began as curiosity about Lynne Hunter’s lack of exposure.

It has unfolded according to the links you yourself have provided.
First you claimed to have a video of Lynne Hunter introducing her husband in New Hampshire, but as you can see, she is not there to introduce him, or to speak of him at all.

My observations are based upon open evidence.

It makes you uncomfortable, so you call me a troll.
I understand you may have invested considerable donations, so it makes sense you would try to discredit me personally. I don’t blame you.

The forum managers will suspend me, and deservedly so, if I have done what you claim.

If Clinton was such a great campaigner, how come he was only 2% in the polls in Oct. of ‘91

Because that was the same month he announced his campaign?

It’s amazing what’s allowable around here these days. I wonder how long I would last if I went to one of the pro Thompson (or anyone else’s) thread and insinuated that someone was a child molester? Then there’s the poster with the bizarre fascination with Hunter’s wife calling her an old war horse.

Somehow I don’t think any of us would last long if we did those things in a thread about another GOP candidate.

As long as your pushing for FRed, bashing a candidates family is acceptable here. Instead of hijacking every Hunter thread, why don’t you comment on the article that was posted or start your own thread?

One thing you NEVER were....curious. Despirate maybe, but not curious. You discredit yourself with each new post you make, and anyone with half a brain can look at your posting history and come to the same conclusion, even if the mods won’t.

war horse ~ a person who has been through many battles or struggles; a veteran

~ Webster ~

IOW it’s a compliment, meant respectfully.
The adjective “old” is YOUR addition.

Lynne Hunter survived her house burning down, FGS.
She’s earned the title of ‘war horse.’

“I’ll put together all the audio from clips like those you quote...I’d call that an ENDORSEMENT of the man’s character & unless your BJ Clinton (”character doesn’t matter”) it will go to the heart of the issue at hand.

Some are born to lead, others need consultants and $400 haircuts!”

When you have all of these top CONSERVATIVE talk show hosts WHO DO THEIR RESEARCH FOR A LIVING saying how they like, admire, love Duncan Hunter, It showes you how CONSERVATIVE Duncan Hunter is, and it’s another GREAT REASON for us grassroots folks to get behind him - and we are!

And SUBSTANCE before haircuts, et cetera!

"Glad to know that there are still some on FR who live by phony polls"

You make no sense. First you make wild assertions that I live by phoney polls then you reference straw polls. TALK ABOUT PHONEY!!! Straw poll are nothing more than a version of the Girl Scouts selling cookies.

It's unfortunate that the baby boomers and X gens are so easily duped. It's no wonder our country is going down the toilet. Why is it so hard for you folks to understand that it is the professional politican that is the enemy of this Country?

In a closing comment I have to mention "trolls". I normally do not post on "Hunter" threads. There was essentially one reason for posting. It was not to get into a diatribe about the pros and cons of Hunter but to show a certain FReeper exactly how dispruted a troll can. be. There's a certain Freeper that trolls the Thompson threads continually making his/her snarky comments. Yes, he/she is the heir apparent of the Hunter pack on FR. You might want to rein in on this individual: a poor representation of the Hunter organization is exhibited by this individual.

Hey MENSA, the Fred threads I “troll” are the ones I frickin posted.

And enough fredheads got the vapors for me exposing his moderate past that I can no longer do so. In other words, I was ready and able to take the heat from the kool aid drinkers. Now if you are so sure of Hunter’s weak record in congress, why don’t you post a thread about it and defend your ignorance.

It’s rather childish to turn every Hunter thread into “he can’t win”. Your beef with another FReeper is not a valid reason for posting such bull, just as B-10 (read BEATEN) trying to smear Hunter’s wife and family will be pointed out and exposed. Seems like that activity came direct from the DUmpster.

I could say FRed cannot win, It’s called HIS VOTING RECORD and HIS OWN WORDS. Neither of which is what I’d look for in a Presidential candidate. At least I have valid reasons for it other than “Clinton was a better campaigner”.

I’d say someone is getting worried about those “1%-ers”.
