WHOM DO YOU KNOW WHO SAT OUT THE LAST ELECTION?
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW WHO SAT OUT THE LAST ELECTION BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED THE MEDIA'S HYPE ABOUT "REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION"? YOU CAN PLANT THE SEEDS OF MEDIA DOUBT NOW -- Copy this and email it to absolutely everybody you can -- and ask them to do the same. Also, be creative: find the email addresses of the officers, staff and members of various clubs and Chambers of Commerce in the towns around you and the areas you're most concerned about:

Did YOU sit out the last election because you fell for the news media's agenda-driven hype about "Republican corruption?" If you get your news only from TV, magazines, or newspapers, it's likely you're being misled and misinformed and that everything you "know" is either NOT true, or, at least, is way less than half the story. "I would not be fooled by the old myth that reporting is about objectivity. Deciding what is news is the most subjective of acts and it is probably the most important thing that we do." -- Carl Bernstein of "Woodward and Bernstein" fame Framing is a process whereby communicators, consciously or unconsciously, act to construct a point of view that encourages the facts of a given situation to be interpreted by others in a particular manner. -- Jim Kuypers, Assistant Professor of Communications, Virginia Tech "... political reporters love to write about politics as if they are merely disinterested observers of political events and the public's perceptions of them, when in fact they play a very key role in shaping those events and perceptions." -- Greg Sargent, a liberal columnist for the Los Angeles Times "I used to be employed as a field engineer servicing [a major broadcast network's] distribution equipment, specifically their affiliates' satellite dishes. I've had many talks with TV newsmen. The most telling was one who confessed that he didn't think he could continue his job and live with himself because he daily saw 'the difference between what I am forced to report and what's really happening.' He told me that, at the first meeting with 'corporate's' news director [from the corporate holding company that owned the station, not the network], the ND told them that 'our job as reporters was to shape public opinion.' When someone protested that their job was to discover and report the truth, the ND responded, 'Whatever the public's perception is is the truth and it's your job to make sure that they have the proper perceptions.' That man's statement is always in the back of my mind whenever I see or read anything in the 'news,' that the job of reporters today is not to report hard, verifiable facts but rather to shape public opinion using selected facts presented in carefully arranged fashion." -- Chris Meissen [Even] "In the past, in the days of ink-stained wretches and typesetting, it was the editors and publishers who set the news agenda. A small coterie of journalists decided what was most important, what went on page one, what was to be emphasized day after day." -- David S. Hirschman, Editor & Publisher "This is what passes for journalism today. Participate in contriving a story and then report it contrary to the facts." -- Jed Babbin "Some folks in the media are quite willing to lie to you." -- D. J. Drummond _____________________________________ ____________________
Now here's a list of congressional DEMOCRATS who received cash from since-convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, or entities related to him, between 1990 and 2006. Did ANY of YOUR news sources tell you about any of it -- ANY of it at all? : Patty Murray (D-Wash) - $40,980 -- source: http://www.noagenda.org/connections/jack_abramoff/ Until the week of June 13th House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (DEMOCRAT-WI) tried to make secret earmarks EVEN MORE SECRET AND HARDER TO STRIP OUT of appropriations bills, the direct OPPOSITE of every "shine the light on fiscal shenanigans" promise the Democrats made during the 2006 election campaign. See this: http://tinyurl.com/23aoud When Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, she promised to stop legislators and their families from soliciting gifts, trips, and jobs from lobbyists and corporations. Obviously, it was nothing more than cynical campaign rhetoric. Newsmax.com has disclosed that in February, shortly after his mother became speaker, Paul Pelosi Jr., was hired by InfoUSA for $180,000 a year as its "Vice President for Strategic Planning." Now, get this -- unlike ALL the other InfoUSA employees, he does NOT report to work at the company's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, or even a lobbying office on K Street in Washington; he's keeping his full-time job as a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Loans in California. InfoUSA is the same company cited by the New York Times for creating and selling marketing lists used by con artists to fleece vulnerable elderly people, including those with cancer and Alzheimer's. New: See: "Despite the new Democratic congressional leadership's promise of 'openness and transparency' in the budget process, a CNN survey of the House found it nearly impossible to get information on lawmakers' pet projects" here: http://www.coxandforkum.com/archives/001135.html West Virginia Democratic Congressman Alan Mollohan, who until recently was the top Democrat on the House Ethics(!) Committee, has been under investigation for steering millions of dollars into his district, much of which found its way into the hands of his friends and supporters while his own net worth sky-rocketed. His activities have actually resulted in his endangering and hurting his district -- while he moved to block corrections of it -- instead of helping his district, even in the short run. The Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which is often attacked by Republicans for being way too partisan in favor of Democrats, named Mollohan in September of 2006 in its annual survey of most corrupt politicians on Capitol Hill. Mollohan has a cute racket going. He gets earmarks inserted into spending bills for non-profit organizations in his home state some of which he helped to set up and then he goes into real estate deals with the heads of these same organizations -- using taxpayer money -- and makes a killing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Also see: Observations on Journalists here: http://FreedomKeys.com/journalists.htm and Media Bias Basics here: http://tinyurl.com/2puzng Also see: Other fascinating things to pass along here: http://freedomkeys.com/passalongs.htm And: Tasty Trivia: here: http://FreedomKeys.com/fascinating.htm and please PASS IT ALONG ---------->

Nah. It was complete apathy towards both "candidates" and national politics. Seriously. Everyone I know that didn't vote told me that.
