Sorry, but this is just meaningless blather that you signed up today to post. The definition of family (nuclear family) is the same as it has been for 5,000+ yrs.

“The current administration is trying to carve in stone their definitions of marriage and family by using their own narrow concept of life to turn back the clock and to limit under what condition people may bond together. “

In 1973, the legalization of abortions gave women the freedom to compete on equal grounds.

No, it lead to the slaughter of 50 MILLION Americans (half of whom were female I might add). And this loss of a generation has paved the way for the collapse of Social Security and created a job market for illegal aliens.

You are a leftist troll and you don't belong here.

“What does same sex marriage take away from them?”

It is INTENDED to create a class/group of PROTECTED individuals who have MORE rights than the rest of us -expressly forbidden by the Constitution.
ALL are created equal, remember.
Marriage is a union between a man and a WOMAN.
That has been the definition since mankind was playing in the mud and stuffing bugs up his nostrils.
To create a PROTECTED class/group is to trample the rights of others.
And leads to the protected class/group similarly trampling the other groups.
Just look at how hateful the gays in San Fran act towards anyone who disagrees with them and their lifestyle CHOICE.

When you learn to use paragraph breaks and line breaks I will be happy to read your opinions.

It ain't rocket science. I'm just an old grunt and I can do it.

You really need to start responding to some of the comments on the thread you created. FR is about dialog. If you feel unable to support your beliefs in the face of specific questions, perhaps you shouldn't have posted your opinions; perhaps you shouldn't have those opinions.

Don't be frightened by the fangs and claws out here. They are only virtual. There will be some psychic violence, however, but, as a wiccan practitioner you should have the techniques that work to insulate yourself from it. If you don't perhaps you should rethink a commitment to an source of protection that does not provide strength when called upon.

“If pre World War II, German hadn’t excluded Jews, they would have developed the nuclear bomb first. How different would our lives be if the balance of power and knowledge had shifted away from us?”

And that line has exactly WHAT to do with same sex marriage, and the definition of family?
It is a strawman, a useless babbling to the wind.

Hopefully even though you've been zotted, you're still reading replies to your idiot spiel.

The current administration is trying to carve in stone their definitions of marriage and family by using their own narrow concept of life to turn back the clock and to limit under what condition people may bond together.

Sorry but "family" has been defined for millennia. It's modern nutjobs who think they know better than generations of people before them. The left is guilty of ego and self-absorption at it's worst. People like you believe that wallowing in the muck of a morally bankrupt society makes things "better".

The changes began during WWII, when women were called to serve outside the home. Suddenly they learned they were so much more than daughters, wives and mothers. They could be independent individuals, capable of making their own decisions about their lives.

I'm sure that the female pioneers of the American west would have been surprised to hear they were weak and controlled!

Traditional families of the fifties were patriarchies. The man led and controlled the household. The wife and children were subservient to his wishes and demands. He alone made decisions and controlled the household resources. He alone had all the power.

Never read any medieval history, have ya.

The tradition family found itself being redefined to include stepparents and stepchildren as divorce became more prevalent.

Fueled by feminism and leftist crap such as "If it feels good, do it" and "Make love not war". Our society has been on a downward spiral since socialism got a foothold in society.

The children of the sixties and seventies questioned more of the old values and beliefs.

In other words, self-centered, egotistical brats decided that rules weren't for them. Neither are morals, ethics and integrity.

More accurate birth control, abortion, and the “morning after pill” have given women control over their reproduction.

Yup! You can have sex like a man and murder the results. You've come a long way, baby! All the way from respected to gutter trash.

Most of your post isn't worth responding to. You are an unlearned twit.

I doubt that this type of family has ever existed in large numbers, at least no more than it does today.
