I am a Conservative because I believe:
* Gov't should protect us from foreign invaders, keep the peace between the states, arbitrate treaties with our enemies and allies, levy a tax if necessary to raise an army, and liberate oppressed people from dictators. * Capitalism is the highest ideal, and no other form of economic strategy will work. All people wish to be free, and given the choice WILL fight to defend that freedom and determine the course of their life.

Email your Manifestos and I will add them to mine. Post your own to your blog too. Let's define what it means to be COnservative and remind people what we believe in.
Being conservative means that I expect the government to be responsible for my security (from terrorists and other countries, from illegals crossing my border or entering my country illegally, from others who could do harm to me physically, mentally or fiscally), for oversight of my transportation around the country or internationally (FAA, Coast Guard, Interstate Highways) and for the assignment of judges to the courts who are responsible for seeing that the laws voted on by government representatives are properly adhered to and administered. I expect the government to act responsibly with the funds collected to administer itself including taking only taxes necessary to manage and nothing more and to not create unnecessary bureaucracies, unions or other organizations that would cause my tax dollars to be wasted.
Being conservative means that I trust myself more than any government.
That's not it. Whose words are those?
Those words are all mine.
In that case there are a ton of maxims about trading freedom for security and getting neither. I expect nothing from FedGov. They should go out of business. However, local gov’t is a different matter. Local gov’t can run the landfill so we don’t look and smell like parts of the third world. That’s what gov’t is good for.
